Something New About Something Old

I have fallen way behind in my workbook in my James study (Beth Moore) and yet as ABBA would have it He’s right on time where I picked up today.

The statement that prompted me here is one Beth made on page 108 of the aforementioned workbook: “and then she did something new. She believed God and acted upon it.”

And the light came on!  And so to all of us the word is

Do something new — believe GOD.

And one might say I believed GOD a long time ago! And that for sure is true. But what about this?

In that old situation, in that protracted issue that is beyond wearisome – do something new! Believe GOD! And act upon that belief!

Our subject She is Rabah. We can correctly surmise, I believe, that Rahab had long been in her situation. That she had long been taking care of business. But on the day those two Jewish ‘Boys’ came by her house, she did something very new! And the new she did changed her life and her legacy.

To read and refresh your recollection of Rahab please click HERE for a link to read Joshua 2, Joshua 6 and Matthew 1.

Doing something new – Believing GOD – delivered Rahab from prostitution and placed her in the lineage of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

Perhaps we do not need to be rescued, delivered from prostitution; perhaps we don’t even need to be rescued and delivered from some disabling addiction; but I’m thinking there is not a one of us that does not need to do something new about something old.

What would doing something new – Believing GOD  – do for you and me? We won’t know til we do!!

If this generates questions in your mind, perhaps we can inquire of  ABBA together – send me a comment or an email and lets talk.

Blessings of Joy and Peace,

Passersby

a you tube for you this 11th day of December 2012.

Have we considered that Joseph was just as much chosen by ABBA for JESUS as was Mary?

ABBA, thank You for knowing well and without flaw the servants to choose for specific works. Thank You for choosing our works for JESUS’ glory and our good. Thank You for yesterday’s good surgery report for Sheila; I ask for a steady and complete recovery for her. Thank You for good news received yesterday from others too. Thank You for the plans you have for us. Thank You for this season; I pray this year, ABBA, more of my celebrating will be holy and honorable. I pray to give the gift of Your Gospel wrapped in love, righteousness, peace and the forgiveness of JESUS the CHRIST to family, friends and passersby. And I am reminded in this moment of Sharron – You know her needs, You know the strength she requires this day for a safe and productive day; and it is for that I pray for her today. And others are coming to mind: Perry, Rosemary, Janet, Carol, Pam K, Pam M, Kerri, Cynthia, Betty, Brenda and You know there are others – precious and beloved folks, asking for their strength to be meet for this day, lavished with Your Presence, LORD JESUS, so tender, comforting and wise. Thank You, HOLY SPIRIT, for hearing and answering in JESUS name.

A Blessing

7 Blessed is the man who trusts in Adonai;

Adonai will be his security.

8 He will be like a tree planted near water;

it spreads out its roots by the river;

it does not notice when heat comes;

and its foliage is luxuriant;

it is not anxious in a year of drought

but keeps on yielding fruit.

To flourish even in a drought; that is Adonai’s will for you and me. I pray it to be so.

Father, I pray to be such a tree with deep roots that find love, trust, faith, peace, and strength in times of the fiercest drought.  This morning I have many to bring for blessing. with various needs and situations, for wisdom, guidance, peace, and wholeness.  Father, You know the anxieties and the deep cries of our hearts.  Close friends with tender needs. Family with plans and dreams. And this day for all who come here to read and pray for today be a HOLY SPIRIT heeded day and a day to exalt JESUS in every place and to make HIM known in our individual spheres. And as this day closes that we will know we have done well, Father and You are pleased with Your children for JESUS’ namesake.

I am convinced that ALL creation was made to reveal GOD to us and even we ourselves.

Sara (if you missed her announcement, click HERE) is one of those creations and we are both learning.

I have long found dogs to be forgiving creatures – they give unconditional love.  That most assuredly should remind of us ABBA.  Sara has been with us a little more than a week and in that time she has learned well that the new wood flooring is off-limits to her. She is mindful of this no-no even while she plays.  Earlier this morning, she was in chase of her ball; now she flat-out enjoys chasing that ball across the kitchen and dining room floors. Today the ball was wild and Sara was in hot pursuit, if puppies could giggle I have no doubt she would have been. And then! oh no the ball rolled squarely on the wood floor; and Sara? Well, Sara abruptly abandoned her pursuit.  Not only did she stop short of her predetermined boundary she looked up at me as if to say please fetch it for me, I can’t go in there. And did I? Oh yes!! with much pleasure and words of praise and hugs.

Can you guess what Sara is teaching me? That we as ABBA’s beloved children must learn to mind and observe His predetermined boundaries with such faithfulness!  Would HE not reward us exceedingly more than I did Sara this morning?

Something more before I close. Sara does not yet know that once she has mastered the art of taking her potty breaks outside, her boundary lines will be extended. I am wondering what boundary lines would be extended for me and what rewards and praises and hugs from ABBA I would receive if I were to more faithfully stop short of holy boundaries?

I’d treasure your thoughts, if you’d care to share.  Happy Thursday!!

Blessings of Joy and Peace,

ABBA, thank You for lessons in such precious packages; packages that don’t always do what is convenient or desired but even so YOU have messages to give. Please help me hear You. And, HOLY SPIRIT, for every dear one who comes here to read and pray, may they hear You too. And, LORD, we have some friends and family that have serious needs; some are physically ill, some are sore and bruised by others who refuse to live within holy boundaries – help, ABBA, in JESUS name, we ask for Your help.
