Grace

Continuing to look at verses of Scripture containing the word foundation is prompting today’s post.

Exodus 9:17-19 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

(vii) 17 Since you are still setting yourself up against my people and not letting them go, 18 tomorrow, about this time, I will cause a hailstorm so heavy that Egypt has had nothing like it from the day it was founded until now. 19 Therefore, send and hurry to bring indoors all your livestock and everything else you have in the field. For hail will fall on every human being and animal left in the field that hasn’t been brought home, and they will die.”’”

via Exodus 9:17-19 CJB – (vii) Since you are still setting – Bible Gateway.

And who of us does not see GRACE in the Old Testament? This passage was addressed to the Pharaoh and was delivered by Moses. I encourage you to read the whole of Exodus 9. Particularly verse 8 – ashes from the kiln. If you don’t think GOD is awesome, you don’t know Him! Back to today’s point. GRACE.

Grace in the Old Testament. As I said this passage was at the time addressed to the Pharaoh (and now we have it for our learning – I am so glad!). The vile man who refused again and again to let Israel go. And yet GOD gave an OUT to ANY who would listen! That is grace, my Friends! Our GOD is the AWESOME GOD of Grace in the Old Covenant and the New Covenant.

ABBA, thank You. Thank You for Your Word that reveals Your Grace to us. Grace in a place that some have accused You of having none; thank You that You have revealed truth.
And in particular I asked in a certain place that truth be revealed today. Thank You for knowing, ABBA. Thank You for taking us back again today to the word foundation. Help us build well today on The Foundation of Life.
And for each Reader coming to this page, I pray for truth to be revealed and Your Grace to be experienced; grace that will lead to softened hearts; hearts that will gladly yield to You; for in yielding to You, ABBA, we are truly free.
I pray for comfort, for helps of every kind and sort, for healings of illnesses, diseases, and broken hearts as needed for each dear Soul gathering here. And I pray for the rescue of children in and out of wombs, for the bondage of sex trafficking to be broken and destroyed, for the protection and peace of Israel, for the repentance and restoration of America and for the Bride of CHRIST to bow before You and receive strength and Will to rise to her feet and tell Your GOOD NEWS. Amen and amen.

Feet

How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! [source]
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; [source]

Yesterday we looked at the word foundation. And today, ABBA, has us looking at feet. And perhaps asking are our feet taking us to places of peace? Are our feet taking us to places to deliver His Gospel of Good News to all Peoples?

ABBA, thank You for precious feet. Thank You for The Sure Foundation You laid from before the foundation of the world. Thank You, LORD YESHUA, for being our Foundation upon which You build beautiful lives. HOLY SPIRIT, help us yield to You for the building of our lives. And help us take responsibility for making sure our feet are shod with the preparation of Your Gospel and that we carry Your GOOD NEWS to all the people.
Again this morning I am remembering Leslie and asking that You reveal the cause and give the doctors a remedy for her pain. Terri and her family – I pray for healing; for lives to be made whole. And Others. Many Others. Emotional wounds – those inflicted with malice and those by neglect and preoccupation with other matters.  Chaotic lives that need the Gospel of Peace. Right decisions that are hard decisions. And thank You(s) for jobs well done. And Praise for abundant blessings. Praises that You work all things for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purposes.  Ray – grieving, not to circumvent his grief, ABBA, but that his grieving will bring his focus to You and what is his remaining mission; I pray he come to see that before too long. And for each Reader here I pray we all will take note of our feet today; that we choose carefully where we walk. And all this we bring in JESUS name. Amen and amen.

Nevertheless

Foundation. That’s the word from which I begin this morning.

But what is a foundation anyway? Here is a smidgen definition from my online dictionary:

foundation [faʊnˈdeɪʃən] n
1. that on which something is founded; basis
2. (Miscellaneous Technologies / Building) (often plural) a construction below the ground that distributes the load of a building, wall, etc.
3. the base on which something stands
4. the act of founding or establishing or the state of being founded or established

via foundation – definition of foundation by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia..

And when you key in the word foundation at BibleGateway dot-com using the King James Translation 84 references appear.

Let me share one with you. Perhaps we can carry it with us today as we ‘build’ this day.

19 Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, stamped with these words:
“The Lord knows his own,”
and,
“Let everyone who claims he belongs to the Lord
stand apart from wrongdoing.”
20 In a large house there are dishes and pots not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay. That is, some are meant for honorable use and some for dishonorable. 21 If a person keeps himself free of defilement by the latter, he will be a vessel set aside for honorable use by the master of the house and ready for every kind of good work.

Nevertheless.

I like that word. It tells me NEVERTHELESS my structure right now: a leak in my roof, some holes in the wall, or bare floors; our FOUNDATION in JESUS THE CHRIST is sure and He will STAND and in Him so will we!

ABBA, thank You for speaking the word foundation to me this morning and thank You for where you are leading with it. Thank You for this particular message this morning. Nevertheless our situations in YOU we are secure. In YOU we are safe. In YOU we will build and we will live. Dawn comes to mind this morning. You know the reason. You know the need and I pray she will know for sure that YOU are a firm foundation even when the world is shifting. Leslie. YESHUA, I pray You will heal her. And others. Many others, ABBA. You see their faces, I lift them to You for help. Struggles of many sorts and oppositions. Weaknesses. Illness and diseases. In all these things I pray we will know You, ABBA, are our FIRM FOUNDATION.
HOLY SPIRIT, strengthen every Reader who comes to this page today; build up our love and trust that we will not dishonor Your Name. amen and amen.

Horizon

It is Sunday evening as I type these words. Our Soul Detox study is complete. Now what?

Where to now with THE WHITE STONE or more affectionately known by long time friends – IDOK Devotions?

Our Home page says THE WHITE STONE is A Gathering Place for Christian Devotions and Prayer. And so we are. Can we be more? Is there a need to be more? Is there a need to be less? Shall we ponder those a while?

A Bible exercise this morning. I trust you will play along. Please read the following (redacted for ease of reading) Text and list the similarities and differences then and today when we gather for corporate worship.

Nehemiah 8 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

1 all the people gathered with one accord in the open space in front of the Water Gate and asked ‘Ezra the Torah-teacher to bring the scroll of the Torah of Moshe, which Adonai had commanded Isra’el.
2 ‘Ezra the cohen brought the Torah before the assembly, which consisted of men, women and all children old enough to understand. It was the first day of the seventh month.
3 Facing the open space in front of the Water Gate, he read from it to the men, the women and the children who could understand from early morning until noon; and all the people listened attentively to the scroll of the Torah.
4 ‘Ezra the Torah-teacher stood on a wood platform which they had made for the purpose; beside him on his right stood . . . .
5 ‘Ezra opened the scroll where all the people could see him, because he was higher than all the people; when he opened it, all the people rose to their feet.
6 ‘Ezra blessed Adonai, the great God; and all the people answered, “Amen! Amen!” as they lifted up their hands, bowed their heads and fell prostrate before Adonai with their faces to the ground.
7 The Levites . . .  explained the Torah to the people, while the people remained in their places.
8 They read clearly from the scroll, in the Torah of God, translated it, and enabled them to understand the sense of what was being read.

Blessings Friends + + +

ABBA, thank You for the privilege of reading Your Word and sharing it here in this forum. I pray we will have eager hearts to read, to hear, to pray and to obey. I pray for each one who gathers at this screen to read and to pray that, HOLY SPIRIT, You will encourage them, will give them answers to the questions they have and the quandaries they face; I pray You will strengthen them in their love for You and their trust in You. I pray You will heal their diseases and prosper their homes and their families as they seek You with their whole hearts — and me too, ABBA, in the Mighty Name of YESHUA, our Savior and coming King.  And in particular I pray for Leslie’s recovery and steady gaining of strength and practices for health; Kerri – always holding her up before You and Dylan too; Dori – she blesses me so, broaden her boundaries I pray; and I pray for those whose names I am not privy to but who are held close in the hearts of our Readers here; that You will make them whole, LORD JESUS. Amen and amen.
