Ring Woes

I’ve developed some knuckle issues – uncomfortably enlarged.

About a month ago I had to have my wedding band and my engagement ring cut off — Windex nor any other substance would get those rings over my swollen knuckle.  Nothing could be done but allow that little jewelry saw to give my swollen finger imperative relief. And then there was a waiting period to let my injured finger heal. It was a long month but the time came to measure my finger to ascertain how much to enlarge my engagement ring so it would fit over my knuckle so I could safely wear it again.

I opted for a really narrow wedding band to compliment the restored engagement ring, giving my finger a permanent respite from crowding.  And now with measurements complete, more waiting . . .

May I now tell you the reason for sharing my ring woes with you?

You see I really am so eager to get my ring back.
I think about it — often!
I am looking forward to that day in mid-February.

Today upon acknowledging this to myself I thought of JESUS. I thought of seeing Him, of His return to earth and I said, I should have a similar, no, I should be much more eager to see Him than get my ring back; to see Him return here to earth and take up His Rightful Place, to see His glorious Face, Face to face. Oh, yes eagerness for His return is only proper! Very proper for every one of us who has been born from above.
The truth is if we have no eagerness (no love for His Appearing) for His return, we need to open ourselves to some cross-examination to see if we are in the Faith.

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing. (KJV) emphasis mine  2 Timothy 4

That’s about it. That’s what I wanted to share with you today.  May your weekend be long on sweet. 😊

Homefront

I don’t think I have a clear 21st Century understanding of these Ancient verses but they have been with me multiple times today.

23 Be sure to know the state of your flocks, and pay close attention to your herds; 24 for riches are not forever, nor does a crown endure to every generation. LINK to source in Proverbs 27.

Be sure.
Not hit or miss, not maybe, but BE SURE.
To know the state of your flocks. What/who are our flocks? I mean some of us may have chickens in the backyard but most of us don’t.
Pay close attention to your herds. Some of us, not many of us I think, have sheep, goats, or cows in the backyard either.
Yet the Word says to be sure to know the state of your flocks and to pay attention to your herds. And following that the Text turns to money — it doesn’t last forever. We know that from experience, don’t we? Nor does a crown endure to every generation. Do you have a clue what that means? Authority, perhaps?

Tend your flocks, shepherd your herds — I think. Whatever the makeup of our flocks and our herds, animals or people — you think?

Take care of the homefront at all costs, does that sound like something wise for us to do?
I’m not so sure homefronts are a top priority in this 21st century.
What does the homefront encompass?
Flocks, herds, finances, food, clothing, shelter, children, and spouses, and certainly NOT in that order.
Do we know what GOD’s order is for these things?

Would it be wise to investigate to learn His Order of these things we are to know and pay attention to?

Yes, I think I have more questions this morning than answers.  How about you, My Friends?

Revelation 2:17 — Holy hugs, Kathie

Wondering about Ears

Here’s what I am thinking about this morning.

Mark 4: 9 Then Jesus said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”  LINK to source

Revelation 2: 7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will grant the right to eat from the tree of life in the Paradise of God.  LINK to source

Here in Revelation 2 was not the first time John had heard JESUS say ‘he who has an ear let him hear.’
Does your sanctified imagination run like mine, wondering about the Apostles, hearing what JESUS said with their physical ears, and then, after He was gone back to Heaven, picturing Him in their minds and hearing the words He said again? I wonder if when John was on the Isle of Patmos and heard those words again, did he smile and think, ” I’ve heard You say that before. I wonder did hearing those words again give him even more confirmation that he was indeed speaking with The LORD JESUS.
This I am not wondering about, I am fully confident that YESHUA was the best student ever! He studied Scripture from childhood and used it for strength, wisdom, and guidance all His earthly life as The GODMAN.  Who are we to not follow His Lead and study to show ourselves approved?  (2 Timothy 2:15)

Good morning, my Friends  ~~~ Holy hugs, Kathie
