11 Dear friends, I urge you as aliens and temporary residents not to give in to the desires of your old nature, which keep warring against you; 12 but to live such good lives among the pagans that even though they now speak against you as evil-doers, they will, as a result of seeing your good actions, give glory to God on the Day of his coming. source
to ponder for the sake of living in our present distress.
I am anticipating beginning as early as Friday that I may be away from our screen here for several days — if I find enough quiet moments strung together to write, I will. Please know that I will be praying for you and soon I shall return LORD willing.
Yes, the sabbatical is for pleasant, happy reasons —
It’s a lovely almost gone Saturday daylight hours here in LA.
We got some seeds in cups with some potting soil and a few sprinkles of water today. I know it’s late to start seeds for transplanting but . . . it is what it is. :)
Our azaleas are blooming.
And for the first time in 3 Springs, I think, this whatever it is has a bloom!
Color me happy!
That’s about it. I just wanted to say hello.
1 Corinthians 6: 14 And God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead. source
The Hebrews on the 15th day of the second month since departing Egypt are complaining. Big time complaining. Like: “. . . You have taken us out into this desert to let this whole assembly starve to death!” (verse 3)
That’s what they said.
Interesting, they were wishing they had died in Egypt — but here the thought of starving to death was not welcomed. Humans. We are a messed up bunch — until JESUS is LORD of us.
Verse 18. . . . each person had gathered according to his appetite. This is speaking of the Manna that GOD sent to them each morning.
They got quail in the evening.
This is my observation – we do the same. We gather from the Bread of Heaven – The Word of GOD according to our appetite. We eat the amount we want. This is why it is so important that we pray for GOD to increase our appetite – to literally ask Him to create in us a hunger for His Word. If we ask and keep on asking HE WILL.
Would you say, we watch television, YouTubes, listen to music, etc., etc. according to our appetite?
What are our appetites? What do we crave?
How can we know?
What say ye?
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
