Oceans

I am wondering this morning. It started as I glanced over some words reporting more evil parading as good as set forth by elected officials.

We can barely keep our heads above the ocean of evil to gasp for a breath of clean living.
What do we do?
Do we talk about it?
Do we complain?
Do we rage about it?

The LORD’s Prayer as it is so named; actually is a model for us, and gave me an avenue to explore.
In the prayer, The LORD YESHUA instructed us to pray, to ask The Father to DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

My point?

As we read, as we hear, as we daily see people-sanctioned evil paraded as good, I wonder what would happen if the people of GOD, seriously and consistently, unceasingly cried out to HIM, deliver us from this ocean of evil?

Deliver us from this evil!

What would that walk out like?
How would we do with that?
What would we expect HIM to do with such cries?

I wonder.
How would He deliver us from evil?
Would He just right now come and get us?
Can I get an amen on that?

Would it mean that He would do such a work in us individually that we would cease to marvel at the evil and instead resist it?
How would we resist it?
Protest? March? Carry signs?
I think that would not work.

What if we carried THE GOSPEL of DELIVERANCE to the ENSLAVED?
How would we do that?
Perhaps Scripture can best answer that.  James 4:7-10

I wonder.

Are you wondering too now?

I hope so.

Let’s Practice, Shall We?

Actually, it is yesterday’s (Tuesday’s) reading but I am just now reading it at 9:26 pm on Tuesday.  Ephesians 4

Verse 1 Paul (in part) says:
I . . . beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called.

And in Verse 2 he tells us how we can lead that worthy life.

Are you ready for it?

Always be humble, gentle and patient, bearing with one another in love, and making every effort to preserve the unity the Spirit gives through the binding power of shalom source

Let’s list how we lead this worthy life.

Always be
humble
gentle
patient
make every effort to preserve the unity of the Spirit

What sums all this up? I mean what makes it doable?

The Binding Power of shalom — peace

Peace with GOD and the
Peace of GOD.

How do we stay in this Peace of GOD?

Well, let’s see; that would be by having (exhibiting)
humility

gentleness
patience
with one another.

I suppose we could say we walk it out — this humbleness, gentleness, and patience.
It would seem if our tongues, our hands, and our feet do not show us to be (do not give evidence that we are) humble and gentle and patient — then we are not living out the Peace of GOD.
And we surely then are not keeping the Unity of The Spirit with each other because it takes the BINDING POWER of PEACE to keep the Unity of The Spirit among us.

Pretty simple to be so vital, isn’t it?

And there’s one more word he uses: always.
Always be.

This could be discouraging, couldn’t it?
But let’s not let it be.
Instead, let’s just

Practice. Practice. Practice.
Until JESUS comes to get us.

Occupied

I have been rather lax this week with writing – why?
Occupied I suppose — I am anticipating more occupation mid-week next week too.
But that does not mean you all are not on my mind — I have a blanket request for you all in my daily prayer journal.

I read 2 Thessalonians 2 today and made many notes in my notebook. I also had questions. Imagine that, huh?

I am not prepared to share it all, but I am inclined to share a comforting thought.

The people of Thessalonica were alarmed; some folks had told them YESHUA had already returned.
We’d be alarmed too, would we not at such a message?
So Paul set about to set their minds at ease.

I don’t have all the answers and I have more questions.
There are matters of eschatology that are beyond my learning at this time and that had been concerning me.
But today, coupled with a prayer a dear sister prayed with me this week, I have this direction:

Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, don’t be afraid to think outside of that traditional box; don’t be afraid to explore for the TRUTH.
And as you do: Trust Father to protect.
Trust Holy Spirit to teach.
Trust JESUS to return.

And in the meantime occupy!
Let us occupy ourselves with listening, obeying, loving, and going about our lives doing good.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Amen and amen – make it so of us too, Father.

No Fooling!

Good Morning or evening as the case may be; I have a portion of Scripture for you to read.
It’s instructive.
It’s penned by Paul to the people of Philippi, yet not just any people of Philippi but brothers and sisters he so dearly loved.
Brothers and sisters that he confidently saw the LORD working in them and he encouraged them to continue so and to be assured that The LORD would continue to work in them until the Day of the LORD’s return for them. (verse 6 of Philippians 1)

I hope you will read all of it but if you are rushing to get on with tasks clamoring for your attention — give yourself to these few.

27 Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.
28 Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.
29 For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.
30 We are in this struggle together. You have seen my struggle in the past, and you know that I am still in the midst of it.
