Day 8 Women

Day 8

Luke 8 BSB

As we arrive at Chapter 8, JESUS is traveling from one town and village to another; He is preaching and proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of GOD.
And The Twelve are with Him and many others, including women but not just any women. There is Mary called Magdalene — seven demons were cast out of her. No wonder she followed Him! And there were others, women of means as the Scripture says. They traveled too and used their money to support the mission; like Joanna the wife of Herod’s household manager.  I wonder how that went over in Herod’s house? b83b4998194a1c28bd002536ef85d8d2-2085152830

In chapter 8, the Parable of the Sower and the Lesson of the Lamp are told. We learn that as Followers of JESUS, we are His family. We also see The GODMAN asleep.  (This makes me so glad our GOD is Three in One.) Then there is the man in the tombs, driven there by demons BUT JESUS! The Scripture says of him — sitting at JESUS’ feet, clothed and in his right mind.  There could be nothing finer for any of us — sitting, listening, hearing JESUS speak to us, clothed in His righteousness  — that indeed will give us RIGHT MINDS!

And there is more.
I hope you will use the LINK and read or pick up your well-worn Bible and learn from JESUS.

Day 7 – Centurion Stew

Day 7

Luke 7 BSB

The Centurion.
Do you know the Centurion was a Gentile? A Roman even! And he needed JESUS.
Let’s look at Verse 9 When Jesus heard this, He marveled at the centurion. Turning to the crowd following Him, He said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.”

Great faith!
What gave this man this great faith?
I wanted to know. So I backed up and read verse 8 again.

Verse 8 For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell one to go, and he goes, and another to come, and he comes. I tell my servant to do something, and he does it.”

Is that it? Authority!
Respect for the Authority of GOD! That must be how great faith was found in the Centurion.

I am concluding here that if we have strong and proper respect for the Authority of GOD, our faith will grow exponentially. And if we don’t, well, I don’t have to spell that out for us, do I?

Perhaps we should also look at the word Authority.
Just the first four words from free dictionary dot com was enough for me.

The power to enforce

The Centurion respected that GOD had the power to enforce.  Wait! Wait! That must mean that the Centurion saw, knew, believed, accepted, and relied upon the fact that JESUS was/is GOD.

Respecting the Authority of GOD . . .
to rule justly
to never be unkind
to never make a mistake
to never miss a thing!  — the list is as endless as GOD HIMSELF of all that HE has the power to enforce!

Beef-StewAuthority.
Respect for the Authority of GOD.
Oh, I am thinking a slow cook of this will yield a delicious aroma throughout the house (life) and nourish us like a hot, delicious stew on a cold December day.

Yes. This Luke 7 needs to simmer into a delicious, healthy faith!

Day 6 – Why Would HE?

Day 6

Luke 6 (BSB)

Did you know JESUS spent the whole night in prayer to The Father before He chose His 12 Disciples?
Do you know He acted promptly upon what He was given in prayer?

Verse 13 says When daylight came. He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also designated as apostles: Yeshua Judaismo

From the Text, we know He had more to choose from than the 12 He chose.
We also know One of them was a traitor, and He knew that — He chose him knowing that. Ponder that.

Why would The Son of Man/Son of GOD spend the whole night praying/conversing/listening to GOD The Father,  at any time and particularly before He chose The Twelve?

What have we learned about JESUS – YESHUA so far these 6 days?
Who is this Son of Man – Son of GOD to you?
