I Too

How beautiful is this?! Take a look with me at Matthew 11.

Verse 2. John is in prison. Actually, it is most likely a dungeon – dark, dank and other things . . .  .
This follows his having preached at the Jordan and having baptized Yeshua there; the Holy Spirit having given testimony that this Yeshua was indeed The Son of the Living GOD; having proclaimed that the Messiah had arrived.  (See Luke 3:22)

And so in verse 3, John has sent messengers to ask JESUS a question.  “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”

In verse 4 Yeshua gives a response for the messengers to take back to John.

And in verse 7 JESUS begins speaking to the crowd about John. Does He ridicule or belittle John? Let us see.

Now as they were leaving, Yeshua began to talk to the crowd concerning John. “What did you go out to the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? No? So what did you go out to see? A man dressed in finery? Look, those who wear finery are in the palaces of kings! Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, even more than a prophet. 10 This is the one about whom it is written,

‘Behold, I send My messenger before You,
who will prepare Your way before You.’

11 “Amen, I tell you, among those born of women, none has arisen greater than John the Immerser.  . . .  source

Not a word of condemnation! Not a word of disparagement. So unlike what we do!

Instead, He said in part:

A prophet? Yes, I tell you, even more than a prophet. 10 This is the one about whom it is written, ‘Behold, I send My messenger before You, who will prepare Your way before You.’  11 “Amen, I tell you, among those born of women, none has arisen greater than John the Immerser.  . . .

Do you hear it? Do hear the compassion? Do you hear the love in His voice? Do you hear GOD speaking?

I do and I am so grateful. This is a warm and soft and welcomed blanket rested lovingly around me. My soul is comforted because I too have doubted. I too have been afraid and more. And with this passage, I know GOD is not mad at me. He loves me. And He loves you too just as much!

Then Came John

John the Baptizer. The first prophet on the scene in 400 years. Four Hundred years without a fresh Word from GOD.  Then came John.

In his camel-hair clothing and with a weird diet. But he had a Word and the people came from all over to hear.

At that time Jerusalem was going out to him, and all Judea and all the district around the Jordan;  source

Matthew 3

They were dry and hungry. A famine of The Word had made them ready.

And what was the Word from The LORD? Was it how kind and patient they had been to wait so long? Was it a message to validate their feelings and tell them how marvelous they were?
No.
The Word was REPENT. And they did!

and they were being baptized by him in the Jordan River, as they confessed their sins. source

Whatcha make of that?

You Are Invited

Heaven (salvation) The Wedding Supper.

GOD is simultaneously all inclusive and certain exclusive.

He has sent and continues to send His invitation to ALL to come to His Heaven. Everyone is invited. And included with His invitation is (clothing) The Garment He purchased and packaged specifically and precisely for the event for each Invitee.
Therefore, Any One attempting to gain admittance without the wearing of  The King’s Garment will be turned away. No admittance. No exceptions.
Got it?

What do you mean it’s not fair?
What do you mean, you want to wear clothes of your own choosing?
You do.
And we do every day that we refuse to believe GOD.

You see we don’t get to choose what is sin and what is not sin. To do so is man proclaiming himself to be GOD.
And no man (or woman or child) persisting in proclaiming himself (herself) to be god will enter The Kingdom of GOD (Heaven).
It’s as simple and inclusive and exclusive as that.

Revelation 22: 16 I, Yeshua, have sent My angel to testify these things to you for My communities. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

17 The Ruach and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come—let the one who wishes freely take the water of life!  source

Ricochets and Boomerangs

The month of May; the month I think about baggage. It’s the time a certain beloved man said,”I don’t need any baggage.” and I said, “Well, I got some.”

Baggage. We don’t have to live long on the planet before it begins to collect. Some have no memory of a time without baggage. But that’s another story.

Baggage. It clutters our relationships, often to suffocation and divorce.

Why?

Because there is One Baggage Handler and we often refuse to check our baggage with HIM. We just keep carrying it on-board every relationship, every marriage.

Baggage. It makes us thin-skinned and eventually mean spirited. I see it everywhere. At times in the mirror.
Thin-skinned and mean spirited. That’s when our baggage becomes OUR SIN. Baggage most often begins as someone else’s sin perpetrated upon us. And we pick it up and trudge on.

Why?

Baggage makes us projectors. Into each relationship we project what was – expecting . . .  and we are disappointed. Why? Because he/she/we cannot measure up to those projections. None of us!
And we all do it! ALL!

Why?

That’s a good question.

Here’s another one. Why do we refuse to check our baggage with THE BAGGAGE HANDLER?  (pic borrowed)

I know the answer to that one!
It has to do with how our mirror is facing. In or out. Oh. And our Bibles. Are they facing us or facing out?

Got it? Yep! Square in my face!

Matthew 11: (AMP) 28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation] .source
