Shut the Liar Up

Have you heard that writing out Scripture is important? I received a refresher of that truth just now so I am stopping in briefly to share with you.

There are many versions in which to read this verse but the TLV is the one I was writing out to remember.

Isaiah 54:17 Tree of Life Version (TLV) 17 No weapon formed against you will prosper
and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment.
This is the heritage of Adonai’s servants— their vindication is from Me.”
It is a declaration of Adonaisource

And as I wrote a light flashed on. Many of us in Christendom are well familiar with this promise No weapon formed against you will prosper and we want that so much. And it is a promise we can count on but there is a condition. It follows in the verse. Let me do all caps here so we don’t miss the importance. YOU WILL CONDEMN every tongue that rises against you in judgment.

So, who rises against us in judgment? No, He’s not speaking of you and me criticizing each other (not that that cannot be done constructively). Who accuses the brethren? (See Revelation 12:10) Of course, the Evil One and his hosts whisper or scream those nasty tongued lies to our minds daily.  And when we don’t CONDEMN them immediately that weapon against us will surely form – that’s not DADDY GOD’s plan but it is His condition in the case of the enemy’s speech. It’s up to us to shut the liar up! And we do by simply condemning – that is recognizing that speech as a lie, reject it and in Father’s Spirit move on.

Please read the rest of the verse again. You don’t want to miss the words HERITAGE, VINDICATION, ME and DECLARATION. Let those words speak to you in the context in which they are given.

Until Next Time * * *

When I’m Not . . .

So when I’m not loving, not joyful, not at peace, not patient, not kind, not well behaved, not full of faith, not gentle and all out of control, like all over my emotional page; what am I?

Sinning.

Obscurity

Did you ever say: “Thank You, LORD, for keeping me where I am because I so see I am not yet prepared to be there.”

And where is there? Perhaps any of those places we dream of being yet somehow we know we’d get into a passel of trouble if suddenly we were there.  Suddenly exposed to the scrutiny of the non like-minded; suddenly a bullseye for holders of an opposing world view.  Suddenly, mute because the debate is a higher rung. Obscurity. Not such a bad thing.  A thing to be enjoyed, while we can  . . .  while we are made ready for there.

Isaiah 58: 10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: 11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.  source

Foolishness (poor judgment)

Yesterday’s installment we ended with Proverbs 22:15. Lets open with it today.

Proverbs 22:15  (AMP)15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of discipline [correction administered with godly wisdom and lovingkindness] will remove it far from him.  source

I started with Studylight.org again with our word and found: without reason.
Immediately, Isaiah 1:18 came to mind.

Isaiah 1:18  (KJV)  18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.  source

Foolishness can be driven from the heart of a child or an adult as we come together with the LORD. And when we come He administers His Wisdom and His Lovingkindness to us, and upon our repentance He removes the penalty of our sins, washing us clean and enabling us to live free and holy in this unholy world.

To refuse Him, to refuse to come and reason with the LORD of Glory is ultimate foolishness; indeed making us full of foolishness with the poorest of all judgments.
Without Christ, we are indeed fools.
In covenant with Him, for us to neglect His wisdom, His counsel on any given matter, is utter foolishness.

I am trusting this labor of love will make a holy difference somewhere, at a time certain, for someone, including me. :)
