I went to look for a Passage. I found it. My prompting was people, and their pain and sorrow and troubles and anguish and poverty. It’s rampant. Have you noticed?
I found more than one Scripture addressing destruction but the reason is largely the same.
Hosea 4: (KJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, . . . source
All our sorrows in this world in one way or another are due to lack of knowledge or the rejection of the knowledge given – perhaps not our own lack or rejection, but somebody’s and in turn it has affected (or perhaps infected) us.
So now what?
And you might say, well, Kathie, that’s not very encouraging. You are right it’s not. But it’s the truth. And what each of us does with the truth we know or refuse to know affects, effects and infects others. So, again, I ask.
Now what?
James 1: (AMP) 5 If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. source
There was a song sang recently. A popular song. A good song. Yet, when I heard it, when I read the lyrics, that analytical me, even critical me kicked in.
Lyrics:
Our Father everlasting
The all creating One
God Almighty
Through Your Holy Spirit
Conceiving Christ the Son
Jesus our Savior
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the name of Jesus
Our Judge and our Defender
Suffered and crucified
Forgiveness is in You
Descended into darkness
You rose in glorious life
Forever seated high
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the name of Jesus
I believe in You
I believe You rose again
I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the name of Jesus
For I believe in the name of Jesus
For I believe in the name of Jesus
I believe in life eternal
I believe in the virgin birth
I believe in the saints’ communion
And in Your holy Church
I believe in the resurrection
When Jesus comes again
For I believe, in the name of Jesus
I believe in God our Father
I believe in Christ the Son
I believe in the Holy Spirit
Our God is three in one
I believe in the resurrection
That we will rise again
For I believe in the name of Jesus
For I believe in the name of Jesus
Lyrics taken from Here.
It’s a great song, isn’t it? Here’s my critique. It takes more than believing all this for one to actually be assured of Eternal Life. Seriously. It does. For you see Satan and all his demons believe all this. They know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is all true. They witnessed it and they are still bound for hell. SeeJames 2, specifically 19 – 26.
It takes more than knowledge. It takes more than acquiesce. If you have questions or would like more information, I invite you to write a comment or contact me via email.
We got to do better than the devil if we are going to get to Heaven.
But, wait wasn’t Acts of sexual immorality second on our list?
For sure it was!
Is the LORD being redundant?
No, I don’t think so.
Adulteries are more than sexual. I invite you to check withWebster 1828for the whole of the definition; but for now, I am appreciating this point: In scripture, idolatry, or apostasy from the true God. Jeremiah 3:8.
Is it odd to you or perhaps you see it as par for the course that the people of 1828 were smarter than many of today’s learned people? But I digress.
Adulteries.
James 4:4 speaks plainly:
4You adulteresses [disloyal sinners—flirting with the world and breaking your vow to God]!Do you not know that being the world’s friend [that is, loving the things of the world] is being God’s enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.source
Recently, a point was made. It stuck. The man said to draw a line. That line is SIN, disobedience, failure to Walk closely with GOD – all those things. And then he asked: Now why would you want to walk as close as you can to that line without crossing it? If you are in covenant with JESUS, why would you not do everything you can to stay as far away from that line as possible with Heaven’s help?
Walking as close to that line as we can get is flirting with the enemy. Crossing over is adultery.
We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
