From the Deck

I planted myself on the deck today for some devoted time — much later than my usual,  I won’t bore you with my sourdough bread story that kept me up late.
I went out to the deck. It is not a fancy view, but the greens in all their majestic display made my whole soul breathe deep and smile.

And I said, Father, what must Your Home be like?! I am imagining He said, ‘ It’s your Home too. ‘ There are some passages of Scripture to support my imagination.  I’ll get to those in a bit.

This planet is on course for destruction as we know it, and has been since the sin of man marred it. These thoughts were full of sorrow, but then came the glorious truth!

Man has indeed marred this earth. Man mars everything he touches, and will continue to do so for as long as man remains under the dominion of satan.  BUT!

The glorious truth! When we who have been born again get to Heaven, we will not mar the place! We will not lessen its value! We will not deplete it! We will bring no harm of any kind or degree to that Perfect Place! Father GOD has and is continuing to build us so we can live there without sin, without doing any damage whatsoever to that beautiful place.
The Place of Perfect Loveliness that exceeds the beauty here by eternity!
You do agree that this creation here is beautiful, right? Then, Heaven can only far exceed our best imaginations!

I am glad I came to the deck today! It’s beautiful out here, but HOME—well, we will see just how lovely it is one day soon.  A day that will not end.

We hope you enjoy the pictures.

Weeds

Image from You Version

I pulled a few weeds from the yard today. It was thrilling when I grabbed a handful, and not only those but others closely attached came out too, and so easily.
When I heard the sound of those roots letting go, I just about giggled out loud.
Of course, I thought of the ones that are dug in and tenacious, and I thought how weeds remind me of sin.

Some sins can be pulled out of the garden of our souls fairly easily, whole families of sin!
But then there are those we love more – and they take longer, more discipline. More prayer and even fasting.

Hence, with this thinking, I went looking for today’s Scripture. I hope it helps.

Musing

My thoughts are saturated. The heaviness of it is uncomfortable. A dark shroud pressing down, close by and far away, across the street and from State to State.

We are deceived.

The enemy smirks, leaps with perverted glee, and we do not see.
But I do see.
What do I do with this candlelight of knowledge?
Put it under a bushel? Blow it out?

The prince and power of the air-he reigns. He owns the place, illegally now, but is still in possession. Held in his grip and sway – all the victims blind and deceived.

Hours and hours, days, months, and years – generation upon generation watches the screens. Screens with images he has prescribed and contrived to while away the time and paralyse the mind.
And he does.
The masses are convinced – no fault, no foul – it’s innocent, we are just amusing ourselves, children and adults alike.
Not so! Not so at all!
And then comes to mind, and now the lips ‘for every idle word we shall give an account’.  Matthew 12:36
Is it not fitting to believe this includes all that we see to watch?

Idle hands (and numbed minds) are indeed the devil at work.

Musing: Deep in thought; contemplative.
Amusing: diverting

Father, it’s written now. I’d be honored if it is worthy of use to You, not to defeat and depress People, but to open hearts and minds to consider You, and that you are so very worthy of our time and devotion.
