Shall We?

Luke 24.
Perhaps you will read it today.

Particularly verses 44 through 49.

44 Yeshua said to them, “This is what I meant when I was still with you and told you that everything written about me in the Torah of Moshe, the Prophets and the Psalms had to be fulfilled.”
45 Then he opened their minds, so that they could understand the Tanakh,
46 telling them, “Here is what it says: the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day;
47 and in his name repentance leading to forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed to people from all nations, starting with Yerushalayim.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
49 Now I am sending forth upon you what my Father promised, so stay here in the city until you have been equipped with power from above.”  source

Then He opened their minds, so that they could understand the Tanakh.
Some Texts read so that they could understand the Scriptures.

The Tanakh is Scripture.

Of all the things to which we need our minds opened is Scripture, so we can understand.
Yeshua did this for His Disciples and The Comforter, The Teacher He sent – Holy Spirit – still does this today for us, who are His Disciples.
Aren’t you glad?

One more thing. Don’t miss this: repentance leading to forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed to people from all nations.

People NEED repentance leading to forgiveness of sins – but how will they hear, if we do not tell them?
Shall we?

Servant.

Not a word that is presently liked so much.
Perhaps because we have lost sight of the intent and the Perfect Example of being a Servant.  John 13
Just in my span of years, I have seen the scowl on faces at just the mention of it; and signs of the bitter taste it leaves in the mouths of many.

Do you?

And then the light shines brightly – the act of service – being a servant, is meant to be a healing balm in this cold, hostile world.

Serve one another in love.
How healing would that be in homes all over this world?

Should I say it?
I think I shall.
We are more like JESUS when we serve one another in love than just about any other time in our lives.
And the opposite of that – well, we know, don’t we?

Love Serves.

Outcasts

I read a portion of Luke 19 this morning; the place that says Yeshua entered Jericho and was passing through and I had some weird thoughts even for me.

I wondered if JESUS thought of Rahab, his great, great, great – ever how many greats it was Grandmother.
You know the story, right?
The spies came to check out the city prior to the marching around it and the ram horn blowing that GOD used to bring down the walls of that very strong city.
Do you also remember that Rahab and her family were spared because she had helped the spies?

Would you like to read the account? Check out Joshua Chapters 2 and 6.

So I wondered if JESUS thought of her and the account of the walls of Jericho falling as He was entering the City.

Strange.
Or is it?

Rahab the Harlot as she is often called, converted.
She believed the WORD she heard about GOD and it was counted to her as Righteousness.

And centuries later Yeshua went to Jericho and another Outcast believed. Luke 19:1-10

if you are interested.

And there you have it – a bit of my wonderings as I was reading Scripture this morning.
Do you wonder things as you read Scripture?

I hope you do. I hope as you read your Bible its pages open and you see and experience the people and the accounts provided for us so we may truly BELIEVE and no longer be Outcasts.

Literally Enjoying GOD

I am grateful for the digital sphere but not all of it; not the sin and there is much of it, at the click of the mouse.
Just that close.

So my question is on what do you click?
Do you sit for sermons?

Will you sit for this one?

Will you click that mouse and watch and hear this sermon?
