Translates

It’s Monday and the first of the month.
August — already!

We have a brand new month —  what will we do with it?

2 Kings 5

Verse  11 But Na‘aman became angry and left, saying, “Here now! I thought for certain that he would come out personally, that he would stand, call on the name of Adonai his God and wave his hand over the diseased place and thus heal the person with tzara‘at.      source

I thought for certain

Translates:   he had made up his mind. He had it all worked out. He had played the scenario over and over in his mind about how this would go.

It didn’t.

Verse 12 Aren’t Amanah and Parpar, the rivers of Dammesek, better than all the water in Isra’el? Why can’t I bathe in them and be clean?” So he turned and went off in a rage.       source

Why can’t I bathe in them

Translates: Why, GOD? Why won’t You do it my way?  I had this all figured out. Why are You messing with my plan?

So he turned and went off in a rage.

Unclean and unhealed.  Rage gets us NOWHERE with GOD.

Verse 13 But his servants approached him and said, “My father! If the prophet had asked you to do something really difficult, wouldn’t you have done it? So, doesn’t it make even more sense to do what he says, when it’s only, ‘Bathe, and be clean’?”    source

But his servants approached him

Translates – and there we have it.
It takes a Servant to hear; not the soul in a rage, seeking their own way but a person with a Servant Heart willing to hear AND obey GOD.

So, want to get rid of your leprosy? Translated — the sin that so easily beset us?
Hear and Obey GOD — no matter how foolish-looking, humbling, and distasteful it is to our flesh.

Go dip in the Jordan 7 times.
Do you have a Jordan, GOD has asked you to dip in — 7 times.
I’m questioning that for myself too.

There’s a lot more in 2 Kings 5.
I hope you will read it.

Too Soft

Putting in a tablespoon of salt when the recipe reads a teaspoon is a MISTAKE.

Mistake is too soft a word to use when calling people to JESUS.

Pornography is sin.
Getting drunk is sin.
Sexual acts outside of Scripture are sin.
Illicit drug use is sin.
Unwholesome language of every kind is sin.
Immodesty is sin.
Unbelief is sin.
And the list goes on.

Do you see my point?

JESUS didn’t die because I put too little or too much salt in the biscuits.
NO.
He died because you and I have SINNED against HOLY GOD.

Repentance has gotten a bad wrap in today’s pulpits!
So has sin  — bad in that Pulpits are so soft on it —  i.e. calling it a MISTAKE or worse yet, not calling sin out at all.

Repentance is a Sweet Spot and should be so preached!
Repentance is the threshold to forgiveness and deliverance from every damnable SIN that separates us from GOD and keeps us on our way to hell.

Stop calling what we do against GOD a mistake.

It is SIN.

Let me say it again, SIN separates us from GOD and REPENTANCE is absolutely necessary to be united with Him.

Carry On

Well, it’s another Saturday mid-morning.
I hear the lawnmower humming away — at 75 my beloved still mows.
Father GOD is so gracious to us!

Our house is quiet again.
I miss the Babies.  Yes, I still call them Babies, their actual age matters not in that regard.

Carry on.
I was just saying hello.

Here’s the Weekly Planner Reading — if you are reading along with us.

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
