Flashing Light

I read ¹⁴Do everything without grumbling and arguing, [source]and stopped. The flashing Light was too bright to ignore.

Everything? Everything without grumbling?

Does ABBA really mean that? Doesn’t He know that is impossible for me? Doesn’t He see the traffic I drive in? Doesn’t He see the unskilled people in front of me who obviously are clueless as to the purpose of a blinker?

Doesn’t He see the gabby customer right there in front of me and the cashier with slow hands and listening ears? Doesn’t He know that I have to get out of this store?

Doesn’t He know I have been waiting on that service person for weeks now to get back here and finish this job?

And what about this: I am sick and tired of taking this longer route home – good grief! I could have built that bridge by myself by now!?

Everything without grumbling?

Everything.

¹⁵so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God who are faultless in a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine like stars in the world. [source]

Will I do this perfectly? Not on my life! But today I can practice!

Thank You, ABBA. Thank You, HOLY SPIRIT, for making Your Word alive and fresh and new, helpful and guiding each time we read. I pray this Word will stay in my heart and brightly on my mind throughout this day and for every Reader who will say amen, me too ABBA.

We have some concerns for people around us and near to us; some cries for healing, for provision of things that are just out of our reach without Your help; and for revival. Yes revival, LORD. Revive us again we pray. I hear You, HOLY SPIRIT, You are right – doing everything without grumbling and arguing would surely help bring revival. Thank You, ABBA, in JESUS Mighty Name. Thank You.

Circuit Breakers (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR FRIDAY, JANUARY 15, 2010

Circuit Breakers

I opened my Our Daily Bread (Radio Bible Class publication) devotional for today, (Thursday, January 14, 2010), read the Scripture and read the devotional thought by Cindy Hess Kasper, and her words ‘That’s because the power for living comes from God and not us’.; all of a sudden were highlighted by the Holy Spirit. I knew He was speaking and I was/am so glad to listen. There are many things in this life I love, but hearing from Him and sharing what He says is without rival, my greatest joy. But that’s not the point here; so I will move on. The power for living comes from God, not us. So if I feel powerless I really need to immediately check what it is that has kicked the breaker. Cindy’s devotion says it is sin and she is right. Sin is what cuts the lines of fellowship. And notice I said ‘fellowship’ not ‘relationship’. For since I am in Christ, I have eternal relationship but the fellowship is hindered when sin interrupts the circuits – the breaker kicks. And when this happens we can and should immediately activate I John 1:⁹ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [source] And the power (fellowship) will be immediately restored. So in areas of my life wherein I feel powerless, in those areas where I experience defeat after defeat; in those areas where I have a sense of hopelessness to change, it is time for me to go to the Breaker Box and flip the switch, because the power for living comes from HIM, not me. I hope this energizes you as it has me today. It’s a breath of fresh air sweeping out the stale! Because the power for living, for overcoming, for success, for triumph, for wisdom, for discernment, for making right choices, the will to say NO, the will to say YES, you name it — ALL comes from Him, it’s not us!

Many hours with its thoughts, deeds and events have come and gone since the writing of this, ABBA, but Your Truth is still Truth. And it always will be; that is so good! And I am so grateful to believe it and know it. Thank You. I am relieved and grateful for answered prayer. And, there are other Sweet Ones that have not been feeling well this week that I am thinking of too, I see their precious faces and I ask You to make them well. And, there may be little faces in Haiti without moms or dads and there are moms and dads without little faces and on and on relationships that have been taken away and, ABBA, there is no doubt that no human on this planet is as grieved about this as You are; not one caring soul on this planet even comes close to caring like You and because that is true You are there and You are working there to restore and heal and I pray the restoration and healing will be received and I pray that the material help that nations are sending will arrive and be delivered properly and I pray there will be no lack. There are some IDOKs who are traveling today, I pray for safety and protection from all harm for them, for vehicles to function properly and for kind people to encounter along the way and, ABBA, if a word of Witness is needed, I pray it will be given. And, ABBA, others are coming to mind and You know who they are and You know the concern and You know what it is needed and I pray it will be done. And on and on goes this list of dearly loved people and I ask that You tend each one of them. We pray for our IDOK Troops, You have been so gracious to each of them and we pray for more grace for them today, for continued safety and protection in spirit, soul and body and all these things we ask in Jesus’ Mighty and Holy Name. Amen and amen.

Friday Notes (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR MONDAY, JANUARY 18, 2010

Friday Notes

I heard Rebecca St. James say today thatwhat you are watching and what you are hearing is feeding what you do.

I heard Joyce Meyer say (my paraphrase, of course)that my purpose (your purpose) for being here on this planet is not to get a husband, or a promotion, or any of those ‘things’ that you or I might be seeking or wanting; my purpose, your purpose, for being here on this planet is to get to KNOW God. What is staggering about this to me is this purpose is not given to you and me at our salvation in Jesus Christ; it is given to EVERY person EVER conceived. What God wants when He breathes life into every embryo is for that person to get to KNOW Him. And in that moment, at conception, I believe ALL HELL takes notice and begins to set in motion events and happenings to destroy, corrupt, intercept, stop, foil, and absolutely make it ‘impossible’ for that person to come to KNOW GOD. This is HUGE to me! This single paragraph sends my thoughts into overdrive, overwhelmed to contemplate all it means and all the ways this knowledge should motivate me to KNOW Him and how this KNOWING Him would affect the way I think, feel, act and re-act to and about everything! I usually say I encourage you but today I am saying I challenge you to ponder this. I challenge you to take this ‘paragraph’ to Him and ask Him to reveal to you what this means for you personally – how He wants to personally affect you with it.

Ecclesiastes 12: (Amplified Bible) 13 All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God’s providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man. Lord and Father, the song that was sung tonight is true — even though the wrong seems so strong, You are the Ruler yet. I don’t know how I could live if I did not know that You are Ruler of all. Thank You. Not only that it is true but that You have given me faith to know it is true. Thank You. Thank You. You spoke messages to my heart today through Your servants in the pulpit and through prayers You have answered. Thank You. I pray You will take this word here and make it helpful to people. I pray You will apply Your Word and I pray that we will KNOW You as You desire to be known by each of us.

I pray for ________, for revelation and for remedy; for strength and restoration for _______. And the needs spoken here are as varied as the names; meet them where they are and rescue them. And our IDOK Troops are always our concern, that they be safe; that they be protected from harm and so we renew that prayer yet again. No doubt they each have needs that we are not even aware of nor can enter into with them, but You can and we pray for You to do that.

I am continuing to pray for America, for grace and space to repent; for the voice of the godly to be heard and for the voice of the ungodly to be exposed for what it is – ungodly. And we still have the people of Haiti on our minds too and the great need there and the great opportunity for You to show Yourself Mighty and for we Your people to show ourselves compassionate – make it so, LORD. And we have not forgotten, nor shall we forget Israel, Your beloved people and we pray for them, that they come to know Your Peace and I pray You will subdue all their enemies. And, Father, I ask You to help me digest what is written here and what I have heard today and to be faithful with Your Word and to be faithful to apply myself in pursuing You, to know You, to love You, to glorify You within and without, but, Father, I ask this not for me alone but for every IDOK and every Reader. Amen and amen.

You know it is a SOS day (an opportunity to practice what you preach) when you wake up late after incessant dog barking disturbed your sleep and before you can get to the kitchen you stumble over stuff you didn’t leave out. And the first word of Scripture you read is

6 Your speech should always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.

Good morning Dear Friends!

Yep! That’s when you know Your Gracious Loving ABBA has snapped you back from the brink of a ruined day. 🙂

ABBA, thank You for Your Word and for accountability with Dear Friends and Loving Family! I pray for each who will come here today; that in You they will find strength to give an answer seasoned with grace to even the most exasperating soul they encounter today; even though they are tired and worn and stressed. I pray HOLY SPIRIT that You will refresh souls today at this page.
Kerri. Pleading for your intervention. Terri and family. For healing and restoration. Leslie. Continued healing. And others, ABBA. Many issues and circumstances beyond our control; we trust You in the Mighty Name of YESHUA. Amen and amen.

Guard Your Heart

Guard my heart.

Okay. That means standing sentry over what comes into my soul by way of my senses. I see the challenge there. And I see without the HOLY SPIRIT’s help, I’m sunk. How about you?

Don’t let my mouth speak dishonestly. I get that. And I might as well be truthful here with you 🙂 The HOLY SPIRIT cured me of willful lying many years ago. If I tell you an untruth, it will for sure be through ignorance. I promise you that!

Don’t let the lips talk deviously. A worthy challenge and for sure is a factor in detoxing our souls! Reminds me of this:
