Root Rest

Suddenly as I was relating an incident to my beloved this morning, a message came that I am eager to write.  I want to see how it develops.

Snow.

Snow is our beta. If in keeping with our previous betas that would be S.T.  :)  Each of them have been similar and yet different. I think Snow is the laziest one. And perhaps that is because we provided him with something that we did not provide the others.

A peace lily growing in his water.

I dropped food pellets in his water vase this morning and he barely noticed. Took one bite and went back to his root rest. You see the peace lily (plant) is such that he can swim into a space within the roots just beneath the water and just rest and sleep; when he needs a fresh whiff of air he can just lift his ‘head’ gulp and then lower again to continue his resting. And were it not for this morning’s happening I could think oh the poor thing he is old and infirmed.

Not so.

Not sure what possessed me but this morning, I lifted the peace lily from the water leaving Snow with no place to rest and he began to devour the food pellets. I’ve never seen him each so much! Two pinches of pellets!!

So I replaced the peace lily and he returned to his root rest.

What’s the lesson?

Truthfully, I am not so worried about Snow’s resting. He’s a fish!  It’s not like he can raise a family, build a city, and preach the gospel in his vase world.      Or can he?? :)

But people? Excluding real infirmities, of course, are not people prone to laziness as is Snow?

If the ‘root rests’ were pulled out from under them perhaps they would work. You think?

Multiple scenarios are coming to mind – adults and children alike.

2 Thessalonians 3:The Message (MSG)
6-8 Our orders—backed up by the Master, Jesus—are to refuse to have anything to do with those among you who are lazy and refuse to work the way we taught you. Don’t permit them to freeload on the rest. We showed you how to pull your weight when we were with you, so get on with it. We didn’t sit around on our hands expecting others to take care of us

I think from time to time for Snow’s own good I pull his root rest and force him to swim before he eats.

Thoughts? Comments? Actions, anyone?

Ahh!

Taking it Personal

Luke 1 26 In the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth,

Can you imagine the stir in heaven as God the Father gives instruction to Gabriel to go to earth with this news??

27 to a virgin engaged to a man named Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. via Luke 1:26-38,42-48 HCSB – Gabriel Predicts Jesus’ Birth – In – Bible Gateway.

So personal!

The GOD of this Universe is PERSONAL. Take HIM personally!!

HE does you.

What glorious news!

Every soul acts out their desire for personal attention and GOD came down from Heaven to give it – what could be more sinful and horrid to refuse Him??

World Evangelism Praying day for me.  A new place. Picked randomly. Trusting that GOD is leading the choice. What place on planet earth does not need prayer? What people do not need petitions lifted to the Throne of Grace on their behalf even by an unknown woman in lower Alabama?

Jasper, Alberta Canada

From my very limited research thus far it is a beautiful place; less than 5,000 people living there. Rustic and pristine are some of the words I have read to describe Her

Rustic and pristine — hmm.

I know the definition but checked free dictionary dot-com anyway, wondering if I could apply those words for some helpful insight.

Rustic:

1. of, characteristic of, or living in the country; rural

2. having qualities ascribed to country life or people; simple; unsophisticated rustic pleasures

3. crude, awkward, or uncouth

4. made of untrimmed branches a rustic seat

5. (Fine Arts & Visual Arts / Furniture) denoting or characteristic of a style of furniture popular in England in the 18th and 19th centuries, in which the legs and feet of chairs, tables, etc., were made to resemble roots, trunks, and branches of trees

6. (Fine Arts & Visual Arts / Architecture) (of masonry) having a rusticated finish

having qualities ascribed to country life or people; simple; unsophisticated rustic pleasures  — Not a distasteful description, if you ask the right persons.  I know some wonderful people who are simple, unsophisticated, and it is a pleasure and privilege to enjoy their company and fellowship.  Perhaps even I would be fortunate enough to be this kind of rustic.

Pristine:

a. Remaining in a pure state; uncorrupted by civilization.

b. Remaining free from dirt or decay; clean: pristine mountain snow.

2. Of, relating to, or typical of the earliest time or condition; primitive or original.

Oh wouldn’t I love to be that: uncorrupted by civilization

But alas,  only one fits this description:  JESUS CHRIST the Righteous!

And for sure, for sure the people of Jasper, Alberta Canada (and every other place), rustic, sophisticated, wealthy, or in poverty; all need someone to seek the Pristine JESUS on their behalf.

Would you like to join me in this prayer endeavor for the month of March?  I hope you will. It would be an honor and a pleasure to serve the people of Jasper alongside you in prayer.

Happy Thursday, my Friends!

Revelation 21:
18 And the wall was built of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald,
20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.
