James and Beth

I’m still slowly working in my James Study Guide (Beth Moore) and every day I come to it that’s what I need for the time.  Today we read:

7 Therefore, submit to God. Moreover, take a stand against the Adversary, and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God, and he will come close to you. Clean your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded people!

via James 4:7-8;2 Timothy 2:26 KJV;CJB – Submit yourselves therefore to God. – Bible Gateway.

And this:

26 come to their senses and escape the trap of the Adversary, after having been captured alive by him to do his will.

via James 4:7-8;2 Timothy 2:26 KJV;CJB – Submit yourselves therefore to God. – Bible Gateway.

Now verse 26 in context is speaking of people who are yet unbelievers but in context with Day 3 it is in my face.  Come to your senses and escape the trap of the Adversary. Come to my senses about what? Anything and everything that is troubling, gnawing, frustrating, baffling, — you get the idea?

I have made a PDF of page 143, Week 5, Day 3; it will help clear matters; I hope you will visit the page. Beth Moore James Study W 5 D 3 P 143

At the page, Beth asked: ‘Which “submit to God” encouragement most spoke to you? Why?’

My underlining reveals which for me. See which speaks to you. Click on the words Beth Moore James Study W 5 D 3 P 143  ABOVE and find out.

Thank You, ABBA. I needed this today and I’ll need it another day I suspect. :) Thank You for being YOU and for loving us. I ask that each who comes here will receive Your love, correction, and encouragement even as You have sweetly given me. I love You.  As a dear sister-friend used to say,  Take a reading on our hearts, see others there, their needs, and mine, and do as You will in JESUS’ name.

This is NOT a blanket endorsement of the Author aforementioned or the works from her pen.

For Today

For today. Some verses to read again and again until they do the work in our hearts, our hands and our feet that He intends them to do.

6 Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
7 Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation.
8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yea, the Lord shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

via Ps 85 KJV;CJB – Lord, thou hast been favourable unto – Bible Gateway.

So what stands out to you at first reading?

A cry for mercy? How about I will? I will hear what GOD has to say.

Folly? How often have I returned to folly?

The salvation of man brings ABBA’s glory to the land. Oh that righteousness and peace would marry in this Land!

I pray, HOLY SPIRIT, that You will keep this passage on our minds until it does the work in us that You have set it to do. Revival. Send revival to us I pray.

Shalom Shoes

I was nearing home from a morning walk when a gentle picture made itself to home in my mind: me, just inside the door – oh the relief and pleasantness of kicking off my shoes. And on the very heels (pun intended) of that came a Scripture phrase: feet shod. You know the verse, don’t you? Having our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel. At least that is the way I remembered it. Then to find it.

Here’s the KJV. The translation we memorized, right? :)

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

via Ephesians 6:14-16 KJV;CJB – Stand therefore, having your loins girt – Bible Gateway.

And another phrasing:

15 and wear on your feet the readiness that comes from the Good News of shalom.

via Ephesians 6:14-16 KJV;CJB – Stand therefore, having your loins girt – Bible Gateway.

Let us yield not to the temptation of kicking off our Shalom Shoes. Times come when we picture it so pleasant to kick them off to give that certain someone a piece of our mind. Don’t do it! (Notice I did not say the Mind of Christ – we always need to give HIS MIND.) So lets keep those shoes on until we get all the way home to rest at the feet of JESUS.

Thank You, ABBA. For strength to walk, not just on this sod but with Your Spirit; thank You that You enable us to keep our shoes on even when kicking them off for the moment would seem much more pleasant. Thank You for profound lessons in simple matters. I ask You to strengthen, comfort, heal and make whole my brothers and sisters all around the globe praying in Yeshua’s name for Your intervention. Thank You for Your perfect answers for us all.

50th day of 2014 – 50th day?? Already? And what have I done??
