And the Answer Is?

When we are asked a question, we answer it even when we don’t answer it.

Now a certain man had been an invalid there for thirty-eight years. Seeing him lying there and knowing he had been that way a long time, Yeshua said to him, “Do you want to get well?”  source John 5

What did Yeshua ask him? Do you want to get well?

What did he answer?

The invalid answered Him, “Sir, I have nobody to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up. While I’m trying to get in, somebody else steps down before me!” John 5 source

What do you think of his answer?

My Confession

If you need some encouragement, I think I have a word of it for you but first my confession.

It does not take many minutes of today’s media fodder to turn the soul of a woman like me to an unhealthy heap. So with that acknowledgement I am relieved and grateful to be reminded by The Holy Spirit: ‘Fear not.’ ‘Wait, trust and see.’ DADDY GOD and His sons and daughters have overcome this world’s debauchery.  Just wait and see.

In the meantime:

Listen Y’ all!

Just moments ago I listened again for the umpteenth time (without tiring of it) to the voice  of my two month old great-grandson – absolute music to my ears. Makes my whole soul giddy.  It’s like happiness bubbles up from my toes to my eyelashes! It is all pleasure y’ all. Are you getting this with me?

And then! It occurred to me!
What if?  What if? Listen now!
Could it be?  Could it be The Father would have such pleasure at hearing our voices? Wouldn’t that just be too wonderful to wrap ourselves around?

Wet eyes here, y ‘all.

Got It?

50 Yeshua tells him, “Go! Your son lives!”
The man believed the word that Yeshua said to him and started off source John 4

The man believed the word that Jesus said to him and started off! Here’s the picture. Yeshua is in Galilee. His ministry is young, He has given one named miracle so far – and folks are talking about it!

A Nobleman from Capernaum (about 16 miles ) from Cana came to see Jesus. Why? He had a son in Capernaum at the point of death and he had heard this Man was at least a miracle worker.  What do we know about this Nobelman?

Warren Wiersbe says this (and more) of the man:
“Was this man a Jew or a Gentile? We do not know. Nor do we know his exact position in the government. He may have been a member of Herod’s court, but whatever his national or social standing, he was clearly at his wit’s end and desperately needed the help of the Savior. He “kept beseeching him” to travel to Capernaum to heal his son.”

If you follow the story and you can by clicking HERE, you know the child was healed the moment Yeshua said: “Go! Your son lives!”

And you know what is amazing?! The man went!! He had been asking Jesus to come to Capernaum but when Yeshua said Go, he went.
It’s the sign of belief! When Jesus speaks and we start off in the direction He said Go. That’s faith. Got it? Not often enough yet – but we are working on it!

Stunned and Shaken

This is a mean and cruel world in which we live; horrible, incomprehensible things happen daily and some of those things come close and we are stunned, shaken, and bewildered, and we question what now? This now!:  we are always loved and GOD is always good!

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;  source 2 Corinthians 4

Let us walk it out for one another in prayer, faith, and caring words.
