Anything Familiar?

This was in my reading this morning. It was penned by Jeremiah as given to him by Yahweh perhaps circa 627 – 580 BC (before the coming of the Incarnate Christ to planet earth). Judah was . . . well, read and find out where was Judah. See if you see anything familiar.

Jeremiah 4: 19 My soul, my soul! I writhe in anguish and pain! Oh, the walls of my heart! My heart is pounding and throbbing within me; I cannot be silent, For you have heard, O my soul, The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war.
20 News of one [terrible] disaster comes close after another, For the whole land is devastated; Suddenly my tents are spoiled and destroyed, My [tent] curtains [ruined] in a moment.
21 How long [O Lord] must I see the banner [marking the way for flight] And hear the sound of the trumpet [urging the people to run for safety]?
22 “For My people are stupid and foolish,” [says the Lord to Jeremiah]; “They do not know Me; They are foolish children And have no understanding. They are shrewd [enough] to do evil, But they do not know [how] to do good.”
23 I looked at the earth [in my vision], and behold, it was [as at the time of creation] formless and void;
And to the heavens, and they had no light.
24 I looked at the mountains, and behold, they were trembling, And all the hills moved back and forth.
25 I looked, and behold, there was no man, And all the birds of the air had fled.
26 I looked, and behold, the fertile land was a wilderness, And all its cities were pulled down Before the [presence of the] Lord, before His fierce anger.
27 Therefore says the Lord, “The whole land shall be a desolation, Yet I will not cause total destruction.

28 “For this reason the earth shall mourn And the heavens above shall become dark, Because I have spoken, I have decided, And I will not change my mind (relent), nor will I turn back from it.”
29 Every city runs away at the sound of the horsemen and archers. They go into the thickets and climb among the rocks; Every city is deserted, And no man lives in them.
30 And you, O desolate one, what will you do? Though you clothe yourself in scarlet, Though you adorn yourself with ornaments of gold, Though you enlarge your eyes with paint, You make yourself beautiful in vain. Your lovers (allies) despise you; They seek your life.
31 For I heard a cry like a woman in labor, The anguish as of one giving birth to her first child, The cry of the Daughter of Zion (Jerusalem), who gasps for breath, Who stretches out her hands, saying, “Woe is me [my judgment comes]! I faint [in fear] before the murderers.source

Accepted

I am reading 1 Peter 5:10 and it reads like this:

1 Peter 5:10  (NKJV)10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.  source

But may the GOD of all grace . . .
What GOD?
The GOD of all grace. All the grace I will ever need. That is Who He is.
Grace.
What is grace anyway? Some say grace is the unmerited favor of GOD.
I don’t disagree with that.
Is there any more?
Grace.
The Hebrew word for our English word grace is chen (with a sign over the e which my keyboard does not have).
According to my Strong’s Interlinear Search, it means Acceptance.
I have been ACCEPTED by Him, the GOD of all grace! And that acceptance is UNMERITED. I did not earn it. I could not earn it. No amount of good works will get me grace. You either.

So, how? How did GOD the perfect Holy One, how did He accept me? Read on.

Who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus!
Jesus must have known what He was talking about when He said:

John 14:6  (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  source

So are you Accepted? How do you know you are?

Any Takers?

This is an excerpt from Heidi St. John‘s podcast today.

“If your church isn’t open or if they’re making everybody wear masks at church because y’all is afraid of getting shut down and you’re afraid of being shamed. Can I just encourage you right now? The mask is hiding more than you have thought it is. And they are literally starting to arrest people. There are quarantine centers set up here in Washington state. Don’t believe me? Google it. This is serious. So I’m going to ask you guys to fast with us. The reason that we fast, in the Bible fasting was a way for us to come before the Lord in almost a sackcloth and ashes in a very, very sober heart. And God’s going to ask you guys to give something up. That’s what a fast is for. And most people, traditionally people think, “Oh, I’m not going to eat. I’m going to eat very light for the next seven days.” Some of you God’s going to ask you to give up social media, some of you He’s going to ask you to give up … I don’t know, whatever it is. The Lord will tell you what he wants you to give it up. And then when you want to do that thing, whether it’s get on the internet or have that glass of wine with your dinner or whatever it is, that should serve as a reminder to you that rather than doing that thing you give it up and you come before the Lord and you use that reminder to say, “Father, forgive us. We have sinned against you. We need your help. We need your wisdom. We need your healing in our world and we need it right now. We need it right now.” God can do it you guys.” Join us in fasting and prayer for our nation July 10-17, 2020.

Humor me a moment, please. Arresting people for not wearing a mask. That’s what she said.
They tell us a mask is a must because one who is asymptomatic MIGHT infect another person with a virus that has a 99.5% survival rate and one that doctors have said is not transmitted unless droplets land on your eyes (which by the way a mask does not cover), nose or mouth and that this transfer of droplets needs about 15 minutes of exposure in an enclosed, not well-ventilated environment to transfer enough droplets to give one the virus.  Even so, if you do not wear a mask YOU ARE A CRIMINAL! ARRESTED, people. Arrested!
Yet we have criminals who have MURDERED people roaming our streets without arrest. We are a sick people. WE NEED TO PRAY!
