Follower of Yeshua. Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother. Some call me a teacher. Some say I'm a prayer warrior. A few accredit me with some writing skills. Me? I say I'm a work in slow progress, looking for perfection in eternity and until then having all the holy fun I know how.

Come to Breakfast

I thought I’d remind you of something you likely already know but perhaps have not thought about in a while.

The TEXT I’m offering here for you to read is John 21:1-14.

If you read the account or if you recall, this happening took place after Yeshua’s resurrection. And it is the third time He appeared to the Disciples after that most wonderful Sunday morning in all of history.

Peter decided to go fishing and some of the guys decided to accompany him. They fished all night and caught nothing. Then morning came and Someone was on the beach.
Verse 7 says John recognized the Someone on the Beach. He said, ” It is the LORD!”
I think he recognized Him because when they cast the net at His command, they got a multitude of fish.
That was not the first time He had given them those instructions. (Luke 5:4-7)

And now to the reminder, I want to give you for consideration today.
When they got to the shore breakfast was cooking.
Bread and Fish.

Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. source

THE LORD HIMSELF was cooking breakfast for them.

The BREAD of LIFE baked bread for them!
Now just ponder on that. The resurrected GODMAN cooked breakfast for them. Not supernaturally but naturally. Campfire and all.
But that’s not all.

12 Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?”—knowing that it was the Lord.
13 Jesus then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. source

GOD Almighty cooked breakfast and served them!

What might He want to serve to YOU today?
The question is, will you dine with Him

supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Galatians 5

1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.   source

A quick thought this morning before the morning passes.

What Liberty is verse one speaking of?
What Liberty in The Anointed One have we been given?
The Liberty to NOT practice sin.

Isn’t that supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! :)
I really can’t come up with a word as to how good this is for us.

Think of it! We have the LIBERTY in CHRIST JESUS to NOT practice sin!
We have the LIBERTY to identify it, name it, call it what it is, and REFUSE to practice it!

Have you gotten any better news than that since Holy Spirit told you, you did not have to go to hell?

However, that is not all the verse says.
It says if we choose to refuse this Liberty and practice sin anyway, it will yoke us, that is the practice of this sin, whatever it is that we chose over Liberty, will tie us up, put us in bondage to the sin we chose.
Bondage – The opposite of Liberty.
Who wants that?!!

A Weekend Exercise

I have a Scripture guiding workbook by Anne Graham Lotz that I am working through. It’s titled Into The WordIt’s a long study; designed to take 52 weeks. It will take me longer and I’m more than okay with that.

So.
As I said I am here to offer you the privilege of some Scripture study for the weekend. With the LINK I am providing you, you can easily move from Text to Text.
As you read each verse note the obstacles shown in the verses that JESUS overcome as He was here in His Human Body.
If you will invest the time, you will be moved to renewed gratitude for The GOD/MAN Who is our Savior.

I really hope you will do this.

If you want your own beloved Bible in hand so you can gently turn those paper and ink pages yourself (like I did), here are the passages:  Yes. It is important that you read them in order and please, please take notes for your own edification.
Matthew 4:1-2
Matthew 8:20
Matthew 11:2-3
