First Promise

We have moved into a long-established Season. A season purportedly to recognize, remember, and celebrate that GOD came to dwell among men

Matthew 1:23  (AMP) 23 Behold, the virgin shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel”—which, when translated, means, “God with us.”  source

But why did HE come?
Please think about that before proceeding to the remainder of this offering.

Why did HE come?
HE came to deal with a vast and eternal reaching devastation that happened
in a Garden.
(There’s something about a Garden – big things happen there.)

A Perfect Place.
A Place where GOD walked with man. (Genesis 3:8)

Enter the Snake. There’s a reason snakes are feared and not well-liked.
This was an ordinary snake until Satan chose him for his own vile purpose.

What was Satan’s vile purpose?
That’s a good question.
Can you answer it?

What method did he use to tempt Eve?

Did GOD say?

And there we have it. The Root.

And what did GOD do?
HE immediately gave us a promise. Genesis 3:14,15
The very First promise that HE would come to dwell among man again

Think about that.
Are you thinking?
Are you remembering the Holy Account? Are you remembering that Adam and Eve walked with GOD in the Garden until they refused to BELIEVE GOD?
That’s what Sin is .  .  . refusing to BELIEVE GOD.
Are you remembering that when they sinned, they were removed from the Garden?
No more Walks in the Cool of the day.
Do you remember why?  See Genesis 3

And here’s the First Promise that JESUS is coming to deal with this vast and eternal reaching devastation that Adam and Eve perpetrated on all of us. I don’t blame them though — I would have done no better.

14 So the Lord God said to the serpent:

“Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And you shall eat dust
All the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”source

How many of you know women don’t come equipped with seeds? :)
Yeah. I’m going to leave it right there .  .  . for us to ponder.

BELIEVE GOD – HE DOES NOT LIE.

At the Door

Good morning. Just a portion from James this morning. We hope it encourages you.

James 5:7-9 (AMP) So wait patiently, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits [expectantly] for the precious harvest from the land, being patient about it, until it receives the early and late rains.
You too, be patient; strengthen your hearts
[keep them energized and firmly committed to God], because the coming of the Lord is near.
Do not complain against one another, believers, so that you will not be judged [for it]. Look! The Judge is standing right at the door. source

First

The first day of December in the year of our LORD 2020.

2020
Does it seem as unreal to you as it does to me? I remember the approach of 2000. We thought the world was coming to an end as we knew it. It didn’t. I am grateful.

2020 has been more challenging than the clock ticking from 1999 to 2000. It is not an understatement to say 2020 gave us a worldwide event.
Perhaps arguably the first time in history the whole world was affected simultaneously by the same event.
I say arguably because I can think of one other event, I was not there at the time, but I’ve read about it, the Fall of man in the Garden of Eden. That one event made ALL mankind hell-deserving sinners.
And I dare say if not for that Fall, all the evil of 2020 would not be.
But back to First.

As I set to prepare this post for the first day of December, I found a Scripture verse for us to contemplate.

John 20:19  (AMP) 1So when it was evening on that same day, the first day of the week, though the disciples were [meeting] behind barred doors for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them, and said, “Peace to you.” source

As we set upon this FIRST day of December, the last month of 2020, would we not hear these words of our Savior?

“Peace to you”

HE spoke these words to His disciples hiding out behind barred doors because they were afraid for their lives.
YESHUA came to them.
Barred doors did not impede HIM.
Is there anything that can impede HIM from speaking PEACE to you?
