Musing

My thoughts are saturated. The heaviness of it is uncomfortable. A dark shroud pressing down, close by and far away, across the street and from State to State.

We are deceived.

The enemy smirks, leaps with perverted glee, and we do not see.
But I do see.
What do I do with this candlelight of knowledge?
Put it under a bushel? Blow it out?

The prince and power of the air-he reigns. He owns the place, illegally now, but is still in possession. Held in his grip and sway – all the victims blind and deceived.

Hours and hours, days, months, and years – generation upon generation watches the screens. Screens with images he has prescribed and contrived to while away the time and paralyse the mind.
And he does.
The masses are convinced – no fault, no foul – it’s innocent, we are just amusing ourselves, children and adults alike.
Not so! Not so at all!
And then comes to mind, and now the lips ‘for every idle word we shall give an account’.  Matthew 12:36
Is it not fitting to believe this includes all that we see to watch?

Idle hands (and numbed minds) are indeed the devil at work.

Musing: Deep in thought; contemplative.
Amusing: diverting

Father, it’s written now. I’d be honored if it is worthy of use to You, not to defeat and depress People, but to open hearts and minds to consider You, and that you are so very worthy of our time and devotion.

Essence

I’ve been thinking about this for several days — longer than I usually do before I come here to write.  It started with a Facebook post I saw.  It’s been enough days ago that I cannot remember the friend whose page it was found or exactly what it said, but I remember the essence of it.

It was an attempt to relate to others; to make others feel better about themselves; to not feel so bad when they mess up — when they sin. It was about admitting we struggle; admitting we don’t have it all together; admitting that we struggle with the same sins over and over.  I get that. Even so, I think it is erroneous.  Yes. I think it is erroneous and I think it does not honor the GOD we are trying to introduce to others.

Where’s the victory? Where’s the GOOD NEWS?  The Good News that says we can, we are living in victory? The Good News that says not only am I forgiven, but I have been changed! I no longer desire to do the things I used to do — HE is delivering me from who I was to who I am becoming in CHRIST JESUS.

Don’t get me wrong; I am not suggesting we deny our sins, neither, am I saying we should put on a high and mighty, lying persona.
I am saying it’s time we get some victory to rejoice about and tell others about.
It’s time we start rejoicing in the truth that we are learning to walk out our salvation and we are by GOD’s grace and because of His Work in us becoming more and more like JESUS daily.

Now isn’t that better than gathering a few friends via Facebook or in real time and having a pity party?  Wouldn’t a victory party in JESUS’s name do them and you and me a whole lot more good?!

I think so too. Philippians 2

So Far

I am sharing in part with you a letter I have written for this Season that the world and Christians are celebrating alike.  That in and of itself is a reason for my letter.

It has been many years in the learning and walking it out here that I have come to believe the Christmas Traditions of man do not honor or represent The Birth of Messiah and I have come to find them unworthy of practice for me.
Even so, I am eager to acknowledge and celebrate daily that JESUS The CHRIST was born here for us – likely in September or October, not December 25; but He came all the same.

He came, leaving Heaven, and lowered Himself to be born a human! Wow! GOD BECAME A MAN!
He is the ONLY sinless human to ever be born!  The ONLY GOD MAN! He walked here on earth and never sinned – never harmed anyone – ever! And then added to all that, He died a death we cannot fathom; our finite minds just cannot fully comprehend this BUT we can believe Him. By His Grace, we do believe HIM.

And then! On the Third Day, He breathed Earth’s air again! Laying on that cold, hard slab of stone, in that same human body, The GODMAN breathed again! to never die again!
ONLY GOD! Only GOD could love us fallen humans so much!

So since the traditional Christmas trappings and trees with elaborate decorating, and greetings said everywhere to everyone that means absolutely nothing holy do not now rest well with my soul, I have abandoned all but a few things, like gatherings with family and friends to share fellowship, and special foods and gifts that say I love you and I think you could use this in JESUS’ Name.
Even if you do not understand or agree with me, I figure you do understand I’m not trying to be difficult, I’m just trying to honor My JESUS the best way I know how for who HE has brought me to be so far.

So let us celebrate LIFE, the lives we now live, and THE LIFE of THE ONE Advent+Week+2-2508622680Who makes our lives worth living, now and forever.
Blessed be The Name of The LORD!!
