Cuss Word

I have spent the majority of my life having no desire to injure the feelings or the walk of others. Mainly as a Disciple of JESUS, my aim and my hope are to give godly counsel and encouragement to anyone who is willing to read any piece that I write.  Obviously, I am imperfect in this endeavor. I started writing devotional material in 2003. I have said many things. Some I regret. Most, I don’t. I’ve made it my goal, to be honest – often telling on myself as I write and seriously trying to NOT tell on others. I prize the privacy of others and guard against revealing matters that are not mine to tell. If I fail in that, it grieves me.

What’s this all about today?
Well, I’m here today to talk about hell.  And why would I want to write about that?! Because I genuinely care about people. I don’t want anyone to spend eternity there and I do mean anyone! I really want to warn people and give people the Good News that they don’t have to go there. It’s the same Message that was given to me and I said YES, I accept.
I want ALL people to accept and believe the Good News.

So, I have questions.
If JESUS did not come to save us from hell, what did He come to save us from?

And if He did come to save us from hell why are we to NOT tell people they are on their way to hell?

Why not ask people are you going to hell when you die?
I know why I have not.  I’m scared. It’s uncomfortable.

And on the heels of that, my question is how uncomfortable will they be in eternity if they die without getting off that road to hell? I mean don’t we get it, People ARE on their way to hell?
It’s a fact.

Look. It’s not us judging them to tell them hell is their destination unless they change their direction. No. It isn’t.  John 3:16-19
If they have not been born again they already ARE destined for hell.
They are on their way now and are one heartbeat from dropping right into that GOD-forsaken place.

What are we supposed to do?

Just be quiet about hell and hope the SINS they love will somehow become not fun anymore? Then what?  I wonder how well our timidity of warning about hell is curtailing the stream of people dropping into it daily?

How can we trust that today’s people even believe there is a hell when it is polled that most professing Christians don’t even believe there is a hell?

Yes, I have heard — Build relationships.
Some people don’t have enough time left for us to cultivate a 3-year relationship with them before we proclaim The Gospel to them.

There’s got to be a way for the Followers of JESUS to talk about hell as much as He did.
JESUS did not come here to give us a better life HERE.
He came to rescue us from HELL and to train us HERE for LIFE in Heaven (eternity). Check it out, dig into your Bible, and prove to yourself how much He talked about hell in three (3) short years of Proclaiming the Good News.
JESUS talked more about hell than He did about heaven.

You see it takes a nanosecond to actually transfer us from a destiny in hell (from the kingdom of darkness) into HIS KINGDOM of LIGHT but it takes a lifetime to get the hell-bent nature in us to die.

I’m not suggesting we go after people like a bull in a china shop.bf8df83a381a352ddc07093e1a9b8ec2

I’m suggesting we study the Real JESUS and do it His way, not the way we have been taught He did.

The woman taken in adultery? The woman at the well? As far as we can tell from Scripture that was their FIRST meeting, both women.
Read how bold He was with the woman at the well.

Preachers usually pick the woman caught in adultery – neither do I condemn you they preach. Sometimes they go further and say He said go and sin no more. Sometimes they don’t.

He didn’t have to condemn her. She was already condemned. So is every unrepentant unbeliever you and I will ever meet.
Condemned to hell already they are.
Because of their sins? No. Did I get your attention?
People are not sinners because they sin.
People sin BECAUSE THEY ARE SINNERS.
And it is this state of being a sinner that must be changed to avoid hell.

When are we going to get this?
When are we going to grasp that people are doomed to hell if they do not get a re-born, new Nature? Saying a prayer, saying they are sorry for their sins is not going to get the job done.
They actually have to meet the REAL JESUS via HOLY SPIRIT and get a BLOOD TRANSFUSION.
When is the last time you heard that preached, hell or no hell?

I get it. Talking about hell is offensive and uncomfortable so if we don’t want to ask them if they are going to hell, can we at least ask, Are you RIGHT with GOD?

HOLY SPIRIT, PLEASE MAKE ME BOLD ENOUGH TO AT LEAST ASK THAT!

Are you hearing me?
I’m as scared as you are.
I’m as uncomfortable as you are with this. Even so, I know we must start talking to people about hell and not just use the word as a Cuss word.

If you have made it this far in your reading of this lengthy, uncomfortable post, I commend you! Will you now decide to at least pray about it? And pray for me while you are at it — I need HOLY SPIRIT boldness and deep, deep Godly love.
Thank you, dear Friends.

Shalom, Kathie

Gifts that Stay

I’m still in John 5
Actually, I thought I was in 6, but nope, not yet.

And I’m here with you with verse 38. Yeshua is speaking to some Folks in the Temple Court. He has been conversing with them about John and apparently, some of them just want to argue. People have not changed in 2000 years. So He said this to them:

38 moreover, his word does not stay in you, because you don’t trust the one he sent.  source

I took note of this and made notes.

I said what a really horrible state of being: The Word of GOD does not stay in you.

To me, that means you hear it but you do not retain it. You do not hold it dear. It is not a treasure to you. Nor is it a guide for your thinking or your doing.
(But it’s deeper. John 1:14 tells us JESUS HIMSELF is THE WORD. If we trust not JESUS and The Father who sent Him, we have not retained THE WORD of GOD within us, nor can we).

And then I said: I don’t want this to be me!

And it isn’t and it shall not be — why?
Because I have been given the holy gift of trust! The holy gift of trusting JESUS.
I am speechless for these indescribable gifts – the gifts of conviction, repentance, and trust in JESUS The CHRIST.
Oh! may all my family, friends, and strangers receive these gifts!

Amen and amen!god-s-greatest-gift-postcard

Ad Commenting

Jesus gets us the Ad says

Jesus
Emphasis on the US you see.

Are you kidding me?!

He gets us?!

How about coming to JESUS in faith for deliverance — so we Get HIM?

How about we (US) take the focus from ourselves and focus on HIM as The GOD He is?

The GOD Who if HE does not transform us from sinners to Saints, we will not enter His Heaven.

Here’s the goal of He gets us.com.

“The main goal is just to increase the respect and the personal relevancy of Jesus,” said Vanderground.”
By the way, the budget for this campaign is 100 Million Dollars.

Further, they say:

“Though we believe he was what Christians call fully God and fully man, that may not be what you believe. We’re simply inviting you to explore with us at He Gets Us how might things be different if more people followed his example. So, look at this as an open invitation to engage and learn more. We’re also here to support and listen to you. Connect with us here and via social media.”

This is as close as they get on their web page to identifying Him as GOD.
And did you notice the wording he was?
He was!
How about HE IS?!

Their focus is His humanity. And I LOVE His humanity.
I LOVE that He gets what it is to be human BUT He did not come here to identify with MY humanity.
He knows people are under a DEATH SENTENCE and it is the CAUSE of the death sentence He came to address.
Indeed He is 100% man, perfect man, and 100% GOD.
Were He not fully GOD, just being the only fully perfect man would still not transform any of us from the fallen humans we were born.

He did not come here so He could identify with our political views or to fix the social injustices of this society.
He did not come here so people could follow His example or His teachings and make this world a better place. (Albeit, obedient Disciples of JESUS do improve social conditions by their very presence in society.)
He came here so we could find our identity IN HIM.
Scripture link and I strongly suggest you read these verses in context.
We can try to identify with what happened to Him in His humanity all day long but until we bow before Him as GOD ALMIGHTY, we will stay in our sins – continuing to practice them without any hope of deliverance and certainly No forgiveness.

JESUS gets us.

Indeed He does. He knows every sin we have committed and He will be giving NO ONE a free pass.

So instead of preaching JESUS gets us, preach do we get JESUS?
Do you (we) GET Who HE IS?
Do you (we) GET who we ARE without HIM?

Am I saying nothing good at all can come from this campaign?
No. I am not willing to go that far because when any man, woman, or child picks up a Bible to read in context with a truth-seeking mind, GOD will meet them on those pages — not a sympathetic, soft, JESUS but the HOLY, AWESOME GOD Who LOVES them AND is willing to save them from their sins, death, hell, and the grave.
He has a new nature (see 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Galatians 6:15) for us because propping up our old nature is not only futile, it’s impossible.

Palatable

At times I tire of bringing strong, firm, and hard-to-publish posts here to this screen. Often I want to write something happy, funny, light, pleasant – you know easy to read things.
This one is not.
So we might as well get started.

We hear Sermons and watch “Biblical” movies (like tonight) and then sit for the wrap-up, numerating the stresses and woes of living here. Things like a financial loss.
Governmental interference and overreach.
Sickness.
Disease.
Death of those we love.
Breaches of relationships, family.
Injustices.
Bad hair days.
The list of things that bring us stress, pain, worry, wondering what shall we do, how shall this end?

And this is supposed to get people to sign up for salvation?
The message of these sermons and “Biblical” movies are so palatable to the average Joe and Sally: we have hurts and JESUS wants to make us all better.
We just need to believe, say a little prayer, and voi·là we are saved.

Saved from what I am left asking?
The stresses and hurts of this world?

Is that what the Sinless Perfect Holy Holy Holy GOD of Creation came to earth incarnate to do?
Make our lives here comfortable?
Make us feel good about ourselves?

Please tell me where that is recorded in HOLY WRIT.

When are we going to preach and testify that JESUS came to save SINNERS, not just unhappy, troubled people?

When are we going, to tell the truth, that JESUS saves people who are broken, devastated over the revelation knowledge that has come to them that they are sinners, sinners who have SINNED against The Holy, Holy, Holy GOD of Eternity, and because of this are headed straight for hell?
When are we going to preach and testify that conversion, the re-birth, happens when an undone sinner is not worried about the job they lost or the trip they didn’t get to take, they are terrified of the hell their sin is sending them to?
And THEN they hear the glorious best news they have ever heard or ever shall hear: JESUS The CHRIST by HOLY SPIRIT reveals to them I, JESUS, YESHUA HAMASHIACH, I have taken your place!
You do not have to go to hell. Believest Thou This?

And by that time the repentant sinner is saying Yes. Yes. Yes.
Thank You. Thank You. I accept Your offer of forgiveness and redemption.
I accept Your Sacrificial death for me. Thank You. Thank You, LORD JESUS.

That my Friends is repentance and conversion.
That my Friends gets a person off the broad road to hell onto the narrow road headed for Heaven.

So it’s not light, it’s not funny, but it is the BEST NEWS A GUILTY SINNER has ever heard!
I should know — it’s the message I heard on November 18, 1975!
And I’ve never been the same!

I shall not leave you without Scripture.
Romans 3:23; 6:23; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Revelation 20:13-15
