What Time Is It?

Honestly, I’m just popping in to see what will show up on the page and to say hello.
I don’t like being away from this screen for many days.

Well, we are halfway through the month of January 2023.
How’s it going for you so far?
It seems the clock clockis speedily ticking to me.

I have a verse for us to ponder today.

35 By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.”  John 13 source

I’ve been thinking about this verse for some days. In context, who do you think JESUS was addressing when He said this?
The setting is the upper room the night He was arrested.
Who was in the room that night?
All people (sinners and saints) will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another.
Who is one another?
I looked up the word LOVE as used in the Text. It’s agápē.

When the Body of Christ has agápē for each other, then the people of the world will know we are His Disciples.

What is agápē anyway? agápē    agapáō

The commands to the Body of Christ are to agápē one another and to proclaim the Gospel of The Kingdom of GOD to the world.
I’ve said it myself but I repent of saying it — we are not here to Share the Gospel.
You read that right. We are not here to SHARE the Gospel. We are here to PROCLAIM it.

Please compare the words: ShareProclaim
Do you see a difference?

The CHURCH has some repenting to do.
And some agápē ing one another and some proclaiming to the world, to do.
Would you agree?

I didn’t expect this.

A Fine Privilege

Would you classify yourself as an avid reader?70ea7e3860ac448144cfac9e721a03ce--reading-posters-reading-books

I have more books on my list to read than I will get read in 2 years, much less this year of 2023.

How many minutes a day do you allot for reading? Or do you not have a daily allotment dedicated to exploring books?

Do you prefer paper and ink in hand or is digital reading your preference?
Of course, I do the on-screen reading every day but I prefer a paper and ink book in my hand.

What was the best book you read last year?
Do you read a variety of genres of books or have you pretty much found your reading niche?

I didn’t read as much in 2022 as I should have and I plan, LORD willing, to read much more this year. reading1
Do you have reading recommendations for me?  I have received 2 title suggestions so far and have both of them on order — they should arrive soon.

What’s my point with this unusual type of post for me?
Just a little conversation.  Just an effort to hear from you from the other side of this screen.

Please consider with me how highly favored we are to be able to read. There are yet people in this world who do not have this fine privilege.
And consider with me that GOD has enabled us to be well-read.
Let us not waste it.

Daniel 1: 17 To these four boys God had given knowledge and skill in every aspect of learning and wisdom; moreover, Dani’el could understand all kinds of visions and dreams.  source

Perhaps you will read Daniel 1 and discover the place and time of these young men who were indeed well-read.

Introduce your children to reading early — preferably while they are still in the womb. reading

Churched People

1Well, y’all the last midnight of 2022 is 30 hours away (at this typing).

Thirty hours and a New Year begins.
We make a big deal of it — don’t we?

I actually like New Year’s.
Other than Thanksgiving, it’s my favorite holiday.
I like fresh starts.
I like new canvases.

There’s even something special to me about starting a new journal  – that very first page.
What shall I write?

What shall we write on the page (canvas) of our very first day of 2023?
We have some plans — do you?

How many of you remember back in the 1990s Churched People used to gather for fellowship on New Year’s Eve?
We would eat fun foods, play games, laugh, and talk until about 11:00 ish and then we’d head to the Auditorium or Sanctuary if you prefer; we’d kneel around the altar and we would pray in the New Year. prayer

Are any of y’all gathering together to do that this New Year’s Eve?
Let me hear from you.

I gotta get up from here — time to prepare supper.

Hunger Pains

Depending on how accurate is WordPress with its accounting, the White Stone Blog post from June 2012 linked below is the last one listed as to the number of views since 2012.
Yes, I have been reviewing posts on the blog today; I have written a few over the years.
Some of them light, perhaps even a couple of them were frivolous, and others hard-hitting.
However, each and every one was written hoping to connect with the Reader and to point them to JESUS and HIS  WORD.

May I ask you my Brothers and Sisters in CHRIST who are also my Friends on FB, do you have people in your circle with whom you want to share The Word of GOD?
If we are Believers who say we believe The Last Days are fast approaching or perhaps already here, how important is it to us to know our family and friends are right with GOD?
I want to help.
When you read certain posts at The White Stone Blog and people come to your mind, please consider sharing the post with them. None of us know how much time we have left to prepare for what has been recorded in Scripture, that shall surely come to be.

Should not there be an urgency in us to connect people with Scripture?
Shouldn’t we, the Born-Again, have gnawing hunger pains, yearning to be NOURISHED by Scripture and cravings to NOURISH others from The Bible?
And if we don’t, isn’t it time to learn why we don’t?

There was a time I wanted this blog to be well-known — I don’t care about that anymore but I do want to connect as many people with Scripture as I can while I am here.  I am well content with being invisible as long as JESUS is lifted up.
And if you have that same desire, and if you find something here at The White Stone that strikes a chord — please share it with others.
Facebook, Email, whatever means you have to share The Full Gospel of JESUS, do it!
