A Wedding

Good Morning.

We hope your evening was filled with rest and the peace of GOD quieted any angst in your soul.

John 2

Somewhere about the age of 30, The GODMAN went to a wedding. His mother was invited. He was invited along with His Friends.
We gather from the Scripture at this time He had not yet performed any miracles or shall we say signs that He was/is the Messiah. So I am thinking at this point in time,  His ministry was not off the ground yet (as we might say) but He was forming His circle of students to grow to be ministers of His Gospel; minus one, of course.
So, He went to a wedding.
I wonder how many weddings (and marriages) He attends today?

Moving on . . .

John 2 records His first cleansing of the Temple.
He caused quite a scene. Whip and all.
Perhaps you will read it again with fresh eyes.

And then this verse:  22 Therefore, when he was raised from the dead, his talmidim remembered that he had said this, and they trusted in the Tanakh and in what Yeshua had said.   source

His students, His disciples, trusted the Tanakh —Tanakh-CEM6 that is the Old Testament Scrolls AND what Yeshua said.

Do we?

Love, Kathie

Come to the Table

I think as I open this page, I do not have much to say but I saw the opening of my last post reading: December 31, 2022, and I thought, well, you better get something on the screen for 2023. So here I am.

Quietly here I am.

We had a lovely day yesterday. Good food and love-filled conversation around the table.

Today?
It’s a mystery yet but we do hope to take a load to the recycling deposit.
Upload for us – download for them I suppose.

Are you contemplating the year?  Are you wondering what it will bring?
None of us know the future, but we can or do know the GOD of the Future.

I noticed when it clicked from 11:59 December 31, 2022, to 12:00 January 1, 2023, there was no poof, all that was was gone and all that is new was here.
Nope.
Man (and woman) is not good at making lasting changes — but GOD, He is Perfect at transformations!

So talk to Him today and listen to hear what He has to say about transforming YOU.
Today, January 2, 2023, is an excellent day to begin.
The feasting of peas, collards, cornbread, and your favorite protein can now take a backseat and we can start a FEAST of GOD’s Word.

Allow me to share an early morning thought and I will sign off for this time.

It is my intent to explore and learn, spiritually speaking, the concept of  NOURISH this year.

This I know this morning.
I must take the initiative to NOURISH.
Holy Spirit is not going to force-feed me.
I must come to the Table, pick up my fork, and eat.

We have a call — Come to the Table and Dine. Come be Nourished. Communion-Slider
Whatever WORD you are focused on this year; He has given all of us an invitation to come and dine.

Are you coming?

20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
21 The one who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne.  source

Romantic-Tablescape-for-Two-07For sure. For sure — if we want to sit around the Throne with Him, we MUST come and sit at the TABLE with Him NOW.

Wall Calendars

December 31, 2022

Last day.
Are you Ready?

What shall we do?
Shall we invite, rather plead with The Father to give us the wonderful, holy gift of conviction of sin?
On this special day shall we confess our sins, receive His forgiveness and be willing to embrace a new level of obedience?

I wonder how many Folks still have wall calendars?
That’s what we used to call them.
Wall calendars. SouthernLady2023WallCalendar
I guess I still do.

We have one in the kitchen, one in the library, and one inside the door of the dressing room towel closet.
That’s where we record our daily weight.
Well, where I record it if it’s acceptable to me. 😉
J is much more faithful than I am.

What else shall we do today?

Set some goals, maybe?
Let’s see, shall we make a  list of some Books to read?
Or perhaps name the People we want to see — to fellowship with?

Attics to clean? Nah — I don’t even want to think about that today.

I have a pile of sheets to wash.
Not kidding. I want to laundry all of them and freshly stack them in the deacon’s bench at the end of the bed so they are ready all month in January.
You know when things get tucked away for a while they tend to get stale. :)
There’s a message in that if you want to explore it.

Happy New Year’s Eve.watchnight_nw_yrs_eve.364110008_std

Whatever you decide, whatever you do make it something that you can do in JESUS’ name.

We are glad you are here; stay a while, look around, and be encouraged. We estimate there to be over 3,000 posts here at The White Stone Blog. Please know my hope is ALWAYS to help and NEVER harm. I have voiced many opinions and thoughts here since 2007 and by now I MAY NOT EVEN AGREE with all of them and some of my grammar and punctuation likely needs editing. But this is changeless: JESUS is our ONLY Savior and Hope. Do you KNOW Him?
