Inside my Head

It’s not the first time; likely not the last that I thank the Father that He knows my thoughts. It comforts my soul that He is inside my head; my heart too.

Psalm 139  (NASB)

O Lord, You have searched me and known me.

You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.

You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it all.

Did you read the verses? Slowly? Did you take in the comfort?

Look what follows: Where can I go to escape your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

The answer is NO PLACE!

Another question. Why do we try? Why do we even attempt to flee His Presence? I figured that out some time ago – sin! Habitual, on purpose sinning makes us feel dirty and unworthy, so we hide like Adam and Eve. (See Genesis 3:8 please) And HE comes for us even as He did for them.

He seeks us. He calls us. There can only be one reason for that.

He loves us. Let us love Him back.

Just One

Borrowing a pic2016-04-06_031753000_B1D69_iOS today just in case someone out there has taken many steps, perhaps even miles of steps from the fellowship she or he once enjoyed with the LORD.

The journey from Him may have been a long one; perhaps years of running; even so the journey back is one step. One decision and you can sense His loving presence again. You can know His smile again. You can know His peace again. One step. Just one.

Take it!

Today’s the day!

Matthew 9:22 (CJB)

22 Yeshua turned, saw her and said, “Courage, daughter! Your trust has healed you.” And she was instantly healed.

Just Saying

Matthew Henry. I often read his writings when I am preparing for Sunday School.

About Acts 6 He opined this:The preachers were beaten, threatened, and abused, and yet the people received their doctrine, invited, no doubt, thereto by their wonderful patience and cheerfulness under their trials, which convinced men that they were borne up and carried on by a better spirit than their own.

Henry, M. (1994). Matthew Henry’s commentary on the whole
Bible:Complete and unabridged in one volume (2086).
Peabody: Hendrickson.

Immediately I was convicted. “Patience and cheerfulness under their trials” convinced others to believe their doctrine.

Patience and cheerfulness under trial.

Should I, should we, draw from this that our complaining, negative talking, irritated, bellyaching about our trials (or should I say our daily inconveniences in comparison) are leading others to disbelieve our doctrine?

Perhaps we would better serve our fellow man if we chose to either fully identify with JESUS and give Him praise even in our trials; or tell no one that we are Christians.

It’s a bonus day! :)

Milk Bottles

Two friends would like your prayers:
Bev (surgery 4.22)
Melinda (healing from a fall)

Today.

I walked passed our bed; it was unmade; ah it’s 2:45 just leave it. No, not going to do it; beds sleep better when the wrinkles of the night before have been smoothed away. So I did. img_7042

And now I’m here, telling on myself. :)

I started my day earlier than usual. A good thing. Then I derailed myself. Dreaming. VRBO.com  I started out with a valid purpose looking for away-from-home lodgings and then my looking went AWOL! That’s how the bed was still unmade at 2:45. At first I was discouraged, telling myself look at all that time you wasted dreaming about stuff that’s not gonna happen. Nope! Not going there. Father, You can do anything! And if You will these dreams can be and will be real. And if not, all is still well.

Earlier it was raining. Now the sun is shining. The house is mostly quiet except for the sound of the washer; late but not too late to start a load of towels.

So what’s all this rambling?

Start where you are. The milk is spilled. We can’t put it back in the bottle but we can clean it up and pour a new glass whatever time of day it is!

21 But in my mind I keep returning to something,
something that gives me hope —
22 that the grace of Adonai is not exhausted,
that his compassion has not ended.
23 [On the contrary,] they are new every morning!
How great your faithfulness!
24 Adonai is all I have,” I say;
“therefore I will put my hope in him.  [source Lamentations 3 CJB]

Again I say start where you are.
The milk is spilled.
We can’t put it back in the bottle but we can clean it up and pour a new glass whatever time of day it is!

. . .  Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation. [source 2 Corinthians 6:2 NLT]

To paraphrase: right now is the time to save this day!
Fret not about what was but start right now to redeem what is!

Perhaps I’m not the only one who really likes this! I am helped. I am smiling! Big! :)

You should too. JESUS loves you. And you can start again right now!

Pass the milk, please! :)
