Biscuits

I think I am not here with anything substantial to say; I just wanted to say hello — it’s been a few days.

It’s late Saturday morning.
Earlier this morning, we were privileged to host one of our sons-in-law (love) for breakfast – he was passing through town and took the time to stop to say hello.  And for sure I was not about to pass up an opportunity to feed him!
To have him seated at the table for biscuits and conversation gave me a smile that is still lasting.

Please be encouraged to love on your families today.
May I also encourage you to be as hospitable to your family as you would be to a friend?

Hospitality

May you know the joy of fellowship today.

34 After that, he brought them up to his house and set food in front of them; and he and his entire household celebrated their having come to trust in God.  source

No Bucking, Please

As I scrolled a bit on Facebook this presented.

Sheep without a Shepherd.

There is only One SHEPHERD but He has called His people to shepherd one another.
When I look out what do I see?  A world of people without the Shepherd and without anyone to shepherd them.  Sadly from the evidence, neither do they want to be shepherded; not by HIM and not by His people (redeemed sheep).

People want to do their thing.
And left to their own devices,  people want to SIN.

And what does the Bible say?

23 For what one earns from sin is death; but eternal life is what one receives as a free gift from God, in union with the Messiah Yeshua, our Lord.  source

But let me get back to sheep and the Shepherd.

According to a Duck Duck search, there are 74 verses in Scripture addressing sheep and a shepherd.  LINK
I didn’t know that — did you?

Sheep need shepherds.
Sheep do really stupid, dangerous, even deadly things without a shepherd.

Our SHEPHERD watches over His Sheep — we know that with certainty and we are grateful. I surely am!
Even so, we are one another’s keepers. Like it or not — it is what it is.
Feed my sheep He said.   John 21:17

It’s a whole other session but husbands, you are to shepherd your wives. Read up on what a Shepherd does for the sheep — and take care of your wife that way. (Admittedly, it will take some spiritual insight and maturity to gasp this.)  Hopefully, she is truly a sheep and will not buck you.

I receive no compensation for this.

You can also read all Four Gospels, start to finish, chapter by chapter, book by book, and observe JESUS as you read – what He said, how He said it, to whom, and what He did. You will learn a lot!

Not Kidding

Looking at some posts from years ago, I think I should tell you some things change; GOD is not one of them (Hebrews 13:8) — HE does not change but He does change me.

I hope you can say the same.  (Romans 12:2)

So, from time to time some posts may go missing.  Others may remain with a modification or two — as I find them that is.  Twelve years of writing is a lot to cover.  Not kidding.
