Always Salty

The right amount of salt makes everything taste better.

Standing alone and out of context (which by the way, is NOT the best way to read Scripture), are two words I want to speak about this morning.
Always and Salt.
Your speech must always, this is what The LORD says.
What does He mean, always?
Has He commanded us to ALWAYS speak correctly?

YES

I’m just saying what I see.
And we shall give an account for every idle word.  (Matthew 12:36)
If that does not make us thankful for the Blood of Jesus that cleanses every repentant sinner I don’t know what would!

So yes, always.  So how does this walk out for us?
Here’s what I see. I hope it helps.
We walk this out by accepting the GRACE (another word for Grace is GOD’s POWER) of GOD to be continually practicing our speech.
Continually practicing speaking what HE wants us to say, not what WE want to say to every person crossing our path.
It’s a tall order but He would not have said it if He didn’t mean it AND if He was not able to empower us to learn to obey Him, moment by moment.
We have no excuse.
We are to continually practice always speaking with grace – GOD’s Grace – His power within us.

Salt. What about salt?

salt

Salt gives flavor. It also helps heal, even preserves.
Our words are to give flavor to conversations. Our words are to help heal wounds, not make wounds. Our words are to preserve – to help rescue people from dying, or at least give them the Good News that JESUS SAVES.

The Right Amount of Salt Always enhances and by GOD’s GRACE, we can practice till we see Him Face to face.
And let me just be honest — this message stings (as it should) because I have not been practicing it well, BUT by His GRACE, I shall learn better!

Take care, My Friends, Kathie

Wall Calendars

December 31, 2022

Last day.
Are you Ready?

What shall we do?
Shall we invite, rather plead with The Father to give us the wonderful, holy gift of conviction of sin?
On this special day shall we confess our sins, receive His forgiveness and be willing to embrace a new level of obedience?

I wonder how many Folks still have wall calendars?
That’s what we used to call them.
Wall calendars. SouthernLady2023WallCalendar
I guess I still do.

We have one in the kitchen, one in the library, and one inside the door of the dressing room towel closet.
That’s where we record our daily weight.
Well, where I record it if it’s acceptable to me. 😉
J is much more faithful than I am.

What else shall we do today?

Set some goals, maybe?
Let’s see, shall we make a  list of some Books to read?
Or perhaps name the People we want to see — to fellowship with?

Attics to clean? Nah — I don’t even want to think about that today.

I have a pile of sheets to wash.
Not kidding. I want to laundry all of them and freshly stack them in the deacon’s bench at the end of the bed so they are ready all month in January.
You know when things get tucked away for a while they tend to get stale. :)
There’s a message in that if you want to explore it.

Happy New Year’s Eve.watchnight_nw_yrs_eve.364110008_std

Whatever you decide, whatever you do make it something that you can do in JESUS’ name.

Strong Language

Luke 18

Then Yeshua told his talmidim a parable, in order to impress on them that they must always keep praying and not lose heart.  source

Our English word for talimidim is Disciples.
In our subject verse, there is a word I don’t want us to miss. It is MUST.
It’s not a suggestion. It’s not merely good advice to take or leave.
No, it is a command — we MUST always keep praying, and even when we do we MUST also determine to NOT lose heart.
And so we practice.

Verse 8. He asked a question.

. . .   But when the Son of Man comes, will he find this trust on the earth at all?”  source

Will HE?

If we pray and refuse to lose heart — He will.

And moving on in the chapter we come to children. It is the account of people bringing their children to YESHUA and the Disciples rebuked the parents. JESUS corrected them immediately.

16 However, Yeshua called the children to him and said, “Let the children come to me, and stop hindering them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. source

Let’s light here for a bit.
Bringing children to JESUS.
Do NOT hinder children from coming to JESUS.

Does this happen today?
I think it does.
People and parents HINDER their children from coming to JESUS.

How?
By not going to HIM themselves for one.
Another way – saying they have Come to JESUS but living like they have not.
No parent or person ever lives for JESUS without obedience to Scripture and it is a day-after-day discipline.

The evil one, all his unholy helpers, and even the world’s people hate our children.
Do you think that is strong language?
Read your Bible and if you can tolerate it watch just a few minutes of  Mainstream Media.
All the aforementioned hate children and are making it their business to be sure OUR children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren DO NOT come to JESUS.
This world’s systems are set up, designed, and operate to hinder anyone from coming to JESUS in saving faith (trust); and children are the MAIN target.

The WORST act a parent or person can commit against a child is to hinder or prevent that child from saving faith in JESUS The CHRIST.

And parents if we do not actively engage with JESUS ourselves and actively seek to engage our children with JESUS – not the JESUS we are taught in many ‘churches’ today but the Real JESUS of the Bible – these children may easily grow into CHRIST-rejecting adults who die in their sins and miss GOD for eternity.

As parents, NO job, mission, opportunity, privilege, or obligation is more important than bringing our children to JESUS.

So how are you/we going to do that?

Prayer and not losing heart.
By obedience to the Scripture.
By living a godly, holy life — a life they can SEE, trust, feel and KNOW.
By refusing to provoke them to anger but rather by bringing them to JESUS.   See Colossians 3:21 and Ephesians 6:4

Are you unclear about what it means to not provoke them to anger?
Then Read Scripture and Pray until GOD makes it clear to you.
For the LIFE of your children do NOT ask the unsaved people of the world for their advice!  Bible-verses-and-scripture-quotes-about-fathers-1000x525
