Nevertheless

Foundation. That’s the word from which I begin this morning.

But what is a foundation anyway? Here is a smidgen definition from my online dictionary:

foundation [faʊnˈdeɪʃən] n
1. that on which something is founded; basis
2. (Miscellaneous Technologies / Building) (often plural) a construction below the ground that distributes the load of a building, wall, etc.
3. the base on which something stands
4. the act of founding or establishing or the state of being founded or established

via foundation – definition of foundation by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia..

And when you key in the word foundation at BibleGateway dot-com using the King James Translation 84 references appear.

Let me share one with you. Perhaps we can carry it with us today as we ‘build’ this day.

19 Nevertheless, God’s firm foundation stands, stamped with these words:
“The Lord knows his own,”
and,
“Let everyone who claims he belongs to the Lord
stand apart from wrongdoing.”
20 In a large house there are dishes and pots not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay. That is, some are meant for honorable use and some for dishonorable. 21 If a person keeps himself free of defilement by the latter, he will be a vessel set aside for honorable use by the master of the house and ready for every kind of good work.

via 2 Timothy 2 KJV;CJB – Thou therefore, my son, be strong in – Bible Gateway.

Nevertheless.

I like that word. It tells me NEVERTHELESS my structure right now: a leak in my roof, some holes in the wall, or bare floors; our FOUNDATION in JESUS THE CHRIST is sure and He will STAND and in Him so will we!

ABBA, thank You for speaking the word foundation to me this morning and thank You for where you are leading with it. Thank You for this particular message this morning. Nevertheless our situations in YOU we are secure. In YOU we are safe. In YOU we will build and we will live. Dawn comes to mind this morning. You know the reason. You know the need and I pray she will know for sure that YOU are a firm foundation even when the world is shifting. Leslie. YESHUA, I pray You will heal her. And others. Many others, ABBA. You see their faces, I lift them to You for help. Struggles of many sorts and oppositions. Weaknesses. Illness and diseases. In all these things I pray we will know You, ABBA, are our FIRM FOUNDATION.
HOLY SPIRIT, strengthen every Reader who comes to this page today; build up our love and trust that we will not dishonor Your Name. amen and amen.

Officers of the Court

Day 35 of 35 – Soul Detox

Romans 14:1-23

Devotional

If you’re hurting all the time, you can’t help hurting other people, but if you will do what it takes to Biblically manage toxic relationships, then you can be strong and share the love of God to people who need to know Him. Strive to manage the toxic relationships in your life, and more importantly, strive to make sure you aren’t being the toxic one in your relationships.
What are some things you can to do to build healthier relationships in your life?

via Soul Detox | YouVersion.com.

And so our Soul Detox study together closes. However, I think if we are wise and if this study is to be perfected in us, we will continue to ponder the TEXTS we have read and the questions asked and the messages given.

Today’s TEXT addressed Judgment, using the word in my Translation six (6) times. And after this study today I am more firmly convinced that our society does not have a clear understanding of the word and it is inappropriately thrown around for the specific purpose of dismissing one’s responsibility before GOD and warding off corrective admonitions of Others.

The use of the word Judge in our TEXT today is this:

to preside over with the power of giving judicial decisions

via Krino – New Testament Greek Lexicon – King James Version.

What is a judicial decision?          An execution or acquittal.
And who makes judicial decisions?         One having the power and authority to carry out those decisions.

And when a human judge sits the bench and he gives a judicial decision to place the Offender in prison and the Police Officer comes and takes the guilty one away, do we say the Police Officer JUDGED the Offender?  I’ll leave that there for you to ponder the analogy.

But I will ask, who has the ultimate power and authority over man?
Who has the right to Execute or Acquit?
Who has the power and authority to open up hell and drop One in or open Heaven and welcome One in?
Who has the directive from GOD to warn and invite mankind respectively? (See Matthew 28:19-20.)

How did JESUS speak to the Woman taken in adultery? (See John 8:10-12.)

“Neither do I condemn you. Now go, and don’t sin any more.”

via John 8:10-12 CJB – Standing up, Yeshua said to her, – Bible Gateway.

Allow me to share an example of a communique that is NOT Judging: I don’t know the specific weapons the Evil One used to entice your flesh to commit adultery (or fill in any other sin); whatever they were I am sorry. I am sorry you did not see any other way; I am sorry you were overtaken by this. It is wrong. It is an evil choice you made. But I have great news!  You can be set free of it and forgiven. Based upon the Word of JESUS, if you will repent; if you will change your mind about this sin, and admit it is evil and a violation of GOD’s Holy Word, determining in your heart that you are willing to forsake this sin, He will forgive you and heal you; and the HOLY SPIRIT will help you never do it again.

That my sisters and brothers is what we need. You and me willing to love enslaved people enough to give them this GREAT NEWS! It is not our JUDGMENT. It is ABBA’s Judgment. We are merely given the privilege and responsibility of being Officers of His Court.

ABBA, this is a heavy ending to this study but I thank You for it. It helps me see and I pray it will help others see too. See that You do hate sin and that sin will eternally kill and destroy us if we do not repent and yet when we do repent You will forgive us, You will heal us and we will LIVE forever with You. Why am I so shy with speaking this glorious message? I pray for your mercy and forgiveness to repent of this and allow You to fill me with bold and holy love for people. And, ABBA, I pray this too for every sister and brother who joins me in agreement. Thank You again for this study, please seal it in our hearts and walk it out with our lips, our hands and our feet for JESUS name sake. Amen and amen.

Good and Bad

Day 33 of 35 — Soul Detox

Genesis 39:1-23

Devotional

Another way to handle toxic relationships is to end them. The Bible is full of examples of people who cut off their toxic relationships such as Joseph and Potiphar’s wife in Genesis 39.
In what types of circumstances do you feel it would be necessary to end a toxic relationship?

via Soul Detox | YouVersion.com.

Obvious from today’s TEXT, there are some relationships we flee. There are some circumstances wherein we do the right thing and we still suffer; in fact, we suffer BECAUSE we did the right thing. Even so fleeing what is not honoring to our ABBA is always the right thing to do; even if it hurts.  We need to hear this!!

And we need to hear something more. Please note with me that  GOD was with Joseph in the good and the bad.

2 Adonai was with Yosef, and he became wealthy while he was in the household of his master the Egyptian.

via Genesis 39:1-23 CJB;NIV – (v) Yosef was brought down to Egypt, – Bible Gateway.

I’d say that was a GOOD time for Joseph, wouldn’t you? He became wealthy and second in command in the Nation – a lot of power and wealth there!

21 But Adonai was with Yosef, showing him grace and giving him favor in the sight of the prison warden.

via Genesis 39:1-23 CJB;NIV – (v) Yosef was brought down to Egypt, – Bible Gateway.

I’d say that was pretty bad, wouldn’t you? Joseph went to prison for a crime he DID NOT commit. Joseph did not wind up in prison because he did evil; he went to prison BECAUSE he did not do evil!

BUT GOD – don’t you love those two words: BUT GOD?!

In the good times and the bad GOD was with Joseph. Is He not the same with you and me?  Reminds me of a song. Here. Enjoy the words, the music and scenes of ABBA’s creation.

ABBA, in the good times and the bad, You are faithful; You are GOD and that’s just the way it is. Thank You. ABBA, we know some having some bad times and here and now we proclaim You are good! And here and now we ask and trust You to intervene. A heart cath for Leslie. Recovery and then more surgery for Terri. Various needs for Kerri, Dylan and Dori. Comfort for BT and others grieving. Wisdom and knowledge for exams to take. Family chaos. Stubborn and wayward souls refusing to repent. New babies needing a chance to live to know You. Children discarded and abandoned. Wives thrown away like refuse. And these are matters near by,  ABBA, no doubt others coming to this page have faces on the screens of their hearts just as tender and desperate. BUT YOU are faithful and You are our Help, our Source and our Strength; our Defender and Provider. We praise You and trust You with them all in YESUHA’s Name.

Boundaries

Day 32 of 35  – Soul Detox

Matthew 16:21-28

Devotional

Matthew 16 shows us that one way to manage toxic relationships is to set healthy boundaries in the way Jesus did with Peter. You might need to tell that person that you won’t let them talk to you or treat you in a toxic way, or you may simply need to tell them that you are just not going to go to a toxic place in your relationship with them.
What types of healthy boundaries do you need establish in your relationships? How will you go about setting those boundaries?

via Soul Detox | YouVersion.com

My Momma would say we were not to hear a sermon with a pitch fork. And then she explained – hearing a message and rather than assimilating the message for what it means to ME, pitch over – apply it to someone else.

27 For the Son of Man will come in his Father’s glory, with his angels; and then he will repay everyone according to his conduct.

via Matthew 16:21-28 CJB;NIV – From that time on, Yeshua began making – Bible Gateway.

EVERYONE.

Everyone includes YOU and ME.

The boundaries I set determine MY CONDUCT. And it is my conduct, if I am wise, that is my concern; for it is my conduct for which I will be repaid or rewarded.

Not many days remain with our Soul Detox study. Let us do some serious meditating as to changes in attitude, words and actions we must make.

ABBA, my mind is weary at times with choices and so often I have looked at the choices of others; seeing the boundaries they do not draw and I have been filled with emotions about it – some not healthy. Thank You for bringing this to my attention. I pray for a meditating heart; to meditate upon the boundaries I must draw in order to make right decisions and do the most good while I am here.
HOLY SPIRIT, guide us in prayer for the good of Others. The boundaries that must be drawn for holy, healthy, happy living. You know the faces I see – You see them too. Thank You again for this study; I pray it does its perfect work in me and every soul reading. And, ABBA, for every person who comes here to read and perhaps pray, I pray for them to be encouraged, inspired and, yes, even corrected as YOU will. I pray they will find You faithful in their trials of need, sickness, disease, lack, troubles and decisions of every kind. Thank You, YESHUA, for giving us Your LIFE and RIGHTEOUSNESS. Amen and amen.
