It’s a Pretty World Today

image

ABBA, for sure You made a pretty world; a world for us to inhabit, a world to demonstrate who You are; help us open our eyes and see. Help us open our ears and hear; to be taught as You speak not only from Your Word and with the LIGHT of the world, JESUS the CHRIST, but all that You created. From this window I see You and You are awesome! Your knowledge and wisdom are beyond my comprehension but I praise You and rejoice in who You are. Your design, intricate workings of all things, one aiding the other, colors, air, sun, gravity, on and on. You are indeed GOD, Awesome GOD. Thank You for loving us.

Psalm 19 (0) For the leader. A psalm of David:
(1) The heavens declare the glory of God,
the dome of the sky speaks the work of his hands.
(2) Every day it utters speech,
every night it reveals knowledge. [source]

Psalm 97

The mountains melt like wax at the presence of Adonai,
at the presence of the Lord of all the earth.
The heavens declare his righteousness,
and all the peoples see his glory. [source]

Well

12 God, don’t distance yourself from me!
My God, hurry to help me!

[source]

These words were spoken by David (and penned) and if you read the preceding verses you will see him saying:

For you are my hope, Adonai Elohim,
in whom I have trusted since I was young.
From birth I have relied on you;
it was you who took me from my mother’s womb.

To many, I am an amazing example;
but you are strong protection for me.
My mouth is full of praise for you,
filled with your glory all day long.

[source]

You see even the most faithful in the course of living life have doubts and fears to process; even the most faithful need to be reminded, comforted and strengthened to move forward with ADONAI:

. . .  for God himself has said, “I will never fail you or abandon you.” 6 Therefore, we say with confidence,

Adonai is my helper; I will not be afraid —
what can a human being do to me?”

[source]

Be strong, be bold, don’t be afraid or frightened of them, for Adonai your God is going with you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

[source]

And with this I say process those doubts and fears with His promise and YOU will make this day just fine, even better than fine – WELL.

Thank You, ABBA, our ADONAI. Thank You for encouragement and Your promise that You will never leave us or forsake us; and as to today with Your Help, we will do this day well to the glory of our Savior and Lord JESUS the CHRIST.  And in our doing well we entrust our family, our friends, our acquaintances as well as those who oppose us; we commend them to You for Your blessings, for healing, strengthening, forgiveness and grace, for whatever they need to bring them to peace and completion in JESUS. Amen and amen.

Endings and Beginnings (again)

IDOK DEVOTION FOR THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2010
Endings and Beginnings
Because I am starting this at 1:25 on Wednesday afternoon and because I still have to make a visit to UPS for copying and to the store for elastic, I am hoping to be brief.  It’s not that I have not been studying today.  To the contrary, I think I have put in much more than I have digested.  But let me give you two points, I think, and then it’s out the door for me.
I finished my JESUS, 90 Days with the One and Only journal today.  I started it on April 6, 2009 and wrote my last entry a little earlier today.  I was happy and sad to reach the last page and I’ve already picked my next 90 day journal – who knows how long it will take.  It’s entitled, JOHN, 90 Days with the Beloved Disciple.  And following that will be 90 Days with David. So looks like Beth (Moore) may have about 2 years to get another one together as I’d like to have a least 4 of them done before I’m too old to do them.  But I’m off track here.
So here’s a paragraph that gave me some sweet emotions and I thought you might like to share them with me.
“Thirty-three years earlier, the feet of God toddled their first visible prints on earth, a young mother’s footprints chasing close behind.  The walk grew rough, the path strewn with stones and thorns.  Now God incarnate stepped off this planet with feet scarred and bruised.  As God predicted at the fall, the ancient serpent struck Christ’s heel, but on the day He ascended, all things were under Christ’s feet.  Jesus Christ walked the way of humanity so that humanity could walk the way of God. How beautiful the feet that brought good news.”
Amen and amen! How awesome is that on the screen of our minds?!
Romans 10: (NKJV)15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “ How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Luke 24: 50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.
I said two but I think I’ll save the other one because this one is just too good to move on from – we need to linger over it for at least a day!  Sweet blessings to you my sisters and brothers in the name of our Holy Jesus!
(Just as a side note – my Baby Girl’s name came from this passage.  I named her Bethany to always remind me and hopefully her that He left from a place called Bethany and He would return to a place called Bethany and for her – Bethany.  I am without words to say how grateful this Momma is that my Bethany is looking to ‘Bethany’ for His return… so’s her Momma.)
ABBA, You know even better than I how grateful I am that You have given my sister Beth such words to give me these pictures of You.  This is so good!  These 2000 plus years since Your nailed scarred feet were lifted off this planet that You chose to come to for us – it’s more than I can take it but I am so grateful for what I have been able thus far to comprehend.  My request to You is to comprehend more and more of You, to fully give You all my heart, soul and body, to be utterly head over heels, fully gone, ‘crazy’ in love with You and occupying myself with Your Business while I keep a watchful eye longing for You to come again.  And, Holy Spirit, I pray that too for our IDOKs and Readers.  Thank You that You are forever watching over us and that nothing touches us that You have not already made provisions to cover.  Thank You that no illness or disease or hurt or pain or wayward child, or bondage, or grief, or IDOK Troop, or family, or crisis in Washington or anywhere else or anything else we could name is beyond You – You have it all covered and redeemed for us if only we will believe.  And praise You, praise You we are learning to believe.  Thank You, DADDY.  Thank You in Jesus Name. Amen and amen.

Catch Phrases

I am eager and excited to share some catch phrases of wisdom with you this morning from the book of Job. Now, I am aware these are taken out of context but taken at face value the stringing together of these words as is caught my attention; and perhaps they will yours as well.

so soaked in my misery.

via Job 10 CJB – “I am just worn out. “By my life [I – Bible Gateway.

I image somewhere along the way I will see such a soul – may it not be in the mirror! And may it not be you my Friend.

11 For he knows when people are worthless; so if he sees iniquity, won’t he look into it?

via Job 11 CJB – Next Tzofar the Na‘amati spoke up: – Bible Gateway.

Rampant iniquity – I see it. You see it. And HE is looking into it. So we can rest from looking at it. In HIS timing He will attend to it and perhaps if we stopped insisting He attend to it in our time and in our way, WE would get out of His way of attending to it. You think?

12 “An empty man can gain understanding, even if he was born like a wild donkey.

via Job 11 CJB – Next Tzofar the Na‘amati spoke up: – Bible Gateway.

This one is WAY RICH. I’m only giving a morsel in comparison.
Origin (of birth) and environment is NO EXCUSE for a miserable, failing life. CHRIST JESUS is available.

10 In his hand is the life of every living thing and the spirit of every human being.

via Job 12 CJB – Iyov responded: “No doubt you are – Bible Gateway.

Awe and comfort!

One more.

11 Shouldn’t the ear test words, just as the palate tastes food?

via Job 12 CJB – Iyov responded: “No doubt you are – Bible Gateway.

We taste food to see if it is good and acceptable before we swallow it. Likewise, should we not test words either from the mouths of others or within our own heads to discern if they are worthy of ‘swallowing’? :)

As I said catch phrases. They caught my attention. Perhaps they will yours as well.

ABBA, thank You. Thank You for more wisdom; for catch phrases to capture our attention, for us to hold and meditate upon, to give us quick and ready guidance in this fast world. Thank You for providing every resource of every kind that we need to live holy lives in this unholy culture. Thank You for knowing us and loving us. And in this moment I pray now for each one who gathers here. You know their names, their faces, their needs, their hopes, dreams and fears and You have every provision ready for them this very day. Thank You. HOLY SPIRIT, help them believe, receive, take hold and let go according to Your Plan for them. Thank You for good reports concerning Terri; yet still a long way to go all the way around and so we wait and we trust for Your Good Plan and Will to be seen. Kerri. ABBA, I am still asking You for a miracle for her. Pat & Rosalie. Alyssa and her family: time is drawing near for the trip; there must be so many details, so much we don’t even know to ask but I trust You ABBA to do ALL things well. David. Ray. Linda. Pam. Women’s Ministries,  in particular those set to rescue women from taking the lives of their babies in the womb; and all those enslaved in sex trafficking. Israel: peace and protection. America: repentance and revival. And we the BRIDE OF CHRIST: to live for Your glory alone, ABBA, these are my requests in this moment. HOLY SPIRIT, help me remain in ceaseless prayer till we gather here again in YESHUA’s name.
