You(s) Too?

I am eager to get to my James study for today before my local world finds that I am awake. :)   So I am borrowing this morning to wish you a quick good morning. This comes from my YouVersion devotion for today.

CONDITIONS

Richard Wurmbrand tells of the joy believers knew while confined in Nazi prison camps. Although many were cursing their lot, hating their captors, and plotting revenge, believers were serving their Christ faithfully, sincerely, and with great joy. Both the believer and unbeliever were subjected to the same conditions. However, one reacted as a saint while the other reacted as a sinner.

Viktor Frankl reminds us that true happiness in life depends not on conditions but on decisions. If our hearts are firmly turned toward Christ then we can and will joyfully worship Him–in good times and bad. This seems to be the essence of Psalm 148. Wherever we are, with whatever we have, we should still praise the Lord.

When our praise is based on God’s goodness, rather than the conditions of our lives, then we have reached the state of true faith. No matter what the conditions, we will remain true. Like Paul, we learn both to be abased and to abound. Circumstances do not dictate our happiness–that is a result of a living relationship with Christ. And when He is in our hearts, we cannot help but sing–whether it be from the mountaintop or from the cellar.

11 Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

We (HE and I) are still working on this and no doubt we (HE and I) shall be till I see HIS face.

You(s) too?

Psalm 146 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

1 Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord, O my soul!

2 I will praise the Lord while I live;

I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

(emphasis mine – I will)

May the emphasis be my experience and yours too.

Joy to you,

2:21

PM. A fine time to be saying ‘Good morning’ isn’t it?

Days don’t always shape up the way we want. Lots of things do not shape up like we want. Some things take on shapes we did not imagine. But it is what it is.

So today this is what I prayed just now:

ABBA, I cannot get skinny today. And I can’t get back the hours I have already spent, but I am willing for You to show me what You can do with me in the remaining hours of this day.

And with that if you are in a similar place as I am; bow your will to His and see what He can do with you!  DADDY GOD willing, see you again soon right here at The White Stone.  :)

Joy to you,

A Busy Week

here at the Thompson house. Good things but not much time for writing here at The White Stone.

Tomorrow is final night for ACES, Fall Session. Luke is our Man for study.

Luke holds a very important verse for me.

Luke 24:50 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.

via Luke 24:50 NASB – The Ascension – And He led them out as – Bible Gateway.

My Baby Girl is named from this verse. The place of JESUS’ Ascension to Heaven after His Resurrection.

And how about the following verses?

51 While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
52 And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
53 and were continually in the temple praising God.

via Luke 24 NASB – The Resurrection – But on the first day – Bible Gateway.

And Luke’s continues recording – penning of the WORD as dictated by the HOLY SPIRIT in the Book of The ACTS.

In the first chapter of ACTS, the LORD gives parting words and instructions and then it reads:

9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.
11 They also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”

HE will come again.

Be encouraged. HE will come again!

Blessings to you Dear Friends    +++

Remember YOU have the God-given RIGHT to do right in this wrong world!

HOLY SPIRIT, as they come here to read and as they read, I ask that You speak individually to them in these verses, speaking the WORD to each as they need. Open our eyes in a deeper way to the glory of Your Ascension, LORD JESUS, and Your Return for us and the commission You commanded until You return for us.

A Nutshell of Filters

The study I told you about on Monday (click HERE if you missed it) is proving to be a most needed study for me. Not only what Mariel had to say but what the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD is personally saying to me.

13 For You formed my inward parts;

You wove me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Wonderful are Your works,

And my soul knows it very well.

via Psalm 139 NASB – God’s Omnipresence and Omniscience. – Bible Gateway.

I am grateful for my NASB translation as it gave me incentive to go looking for the Hebrew meaning for inward parts.  Inward parts equals kidneys.  And oh my goodness! take a look at kidneys and the word picture that forms is HUGE! (And I have not even read all the materials!) Too huge for me to fully develop here for you so I’ll give you a nutshell.

We know already kidneys are filters. Right? Right. And we know what filters do. They filter. They filter out harmful wastes and toxins. But that’s not all they do. They also produce necessary, most helpful hormones.

In addition to removing wastes, the kidneys release three important hormones:

Now look at verse 14. Verse 14 says we know very well that we are fearfully and wonderfully made; that we know very well that we are precious and treasured by GOD; that we give thanks to Him; that we believe all His works are wonderful; that we value the precious ones in our wombs.

Look around. Who do you know who has fully embraced ALL this? Look in the mirror. Have you?  Have I? By faith, today I say I am beginning too!

So what’s our problem?  Spiritually speaking, you understand. Verse 13 gives us a clue I believe.

Our kidneys (filters) have been corrupted. They don’t filter out the waste and toxins and they don’t produce the life-sustaining ‘hormones’ in quantities needed. By the way, you know hormones are for balancing the body and emotions, don’t you?

Are you getting the picture?  Sin has corrupted our kidneys. Our filters. Our hormones.

But the GREAT NEWS is that JESUS has come to set our filters and our hormones in proper working order again! As we yield to the HOLY SPIRIT, He is restoring our filters and our balance. One day we will be fully restored! But for now, the more we yield to the HOLY SPIRIT in obedience, in prayer, in HIS WORD, the better our filters, filter and produce. And the healthier we get! And the safer are the precious ones in the wombs of women.

I am loving this study! Thanks for listening.  Happy Wednesday blessings to you, my Friends.
