ANYONE

Have Christians strayed from Scripture?
Have Christians adopted the world’s ways of addressing human maladies and injustices?

When Yeshua walked the sands of Judea in His GODMAN body the Romans were cruel and dictatorial, intoxicated with power. They beat, killed, and taxed the Jews to poverty and that was just for starters. Yet in Scripture, I find no recordings of Yeshua organizing groups to march in the streets with signs and angry shouts; nor kill Roman officers, loot, or burn Roman businesses. (No. I am not saying Christians are doing the latter.) Neither have I found it recorded that He instructed His disciples to do so. There was that time Peter got heated and afraid and sliced off a man’s ear and Yeshua immediately put it back and instructed Peter otherwise. (Check it out at Luke 22:49-51 and John 18:10-11) The Bible tells me Jesus went about preaching His Gospel, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and fellowshipping with A N Y O N E who wanted His company.

How are we stacking up?

End of the Day

The following is an End of the Day Musing that I posted to Facebook at the end of my day yesterday. One commentator suggested I give it an opportunity for a broader audience. So, here goes.

There is something crucial I wish to write about – we seem to be silent about it here on Facebook.
Not one human being was given the privilege of selecting their birth parents, their family heritage, where they were born, the color of their skin, and a few other biological factors.
It was GOD who decided that.
And is it not high time we stop blaming, hating, envying, accusing, killing, insulting one another, and take our complaints to GOD instead?
Yes, I arrived here pretty pale.
And the reality is I cannot afford to apologize or complain about something GOD chose for me – neither can you.
If I could have served Him better as a brown, black, red, or yellow woman that is the pigment He would have arranged for me. We each have a purpose, and a mission from Him and the shade of our skin is part of that. If GOD is for you and He is alive and active in you, your skin shade cannot stop Him from fulfilling His desires for you. Not only can your skin color not stop Him from fulfilling every desire He has placed within you neither can anyone or anything else. Only you can do that by rejecting His gifts to you, skin tones included, all our varying shades.
I don’t know your story. You don’t know mine. Perhaps we would both be surprised if we did. But I do know this GOD loves you and He loves me and if you or I fail to have a good life and an even better eternity it’s not for His lack of offering it to us.

Words. Words. Words.

Words. I like words. Words are vehicles of communication; they inform. However, problems arise with using Words. They can be perceived differently than intended. They can be spoken or written hastily. They can be used to edify the hearers. They can be used to wound the hearers (or readers). The speaker is responsible for his or her words. The hearer is responsible too; responsible to do his or her best to listen for understanding and to ask in a spirit of learning, did you mean what I have perceived? This is communication. It’s limited it seems to me these days.

These days we have Word Police. We get warnings or ticketed when we use words others do not like. Now, depending upon the intent of our hearts, that might not put us in such bad company. Here, let me give you an example.

Yeshua.
Some know Him as Jesus. If He were walking the earth today in His GODMAN body He would get warned and ticketed often.
Yeshua said what He meant and meant what He said.
And it was NEVER to hurt; it was ALWAYS to heal. I suspect often, though, it did sting and smart some of the hearers.  (It has me!)
Would you like an example? Matthew 23. Take a look.

And let us do likewise. Let our words be chosen for the purpose of healing, even when they hurt.
I know, it’s easier said than done; but, we can practice!

Ephesians 4:29  (AMP) 29 Do not let unwholesome [foul, profane, worthless, vulgar] words ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good for building up others, according to the need and the occasion, so that it will be a blessing to those who hear [you speak]. source
