Pause Button

The four horsemen are coming. [See Revelation 6:1-8 for their descriptions) That is as certain as the sun came up this morning. The end of things as we know them will play out. The end of the beginning will be exactly as GOD has revealed in His Word. And so for some the attitude is well the end is set, let it play out, there is nothing for me to do or that  I can do about it. I am here to challenge that.

Did not YESHUA say, Occupy till I come? Luke 19:13 Occupy means; well, don’t take my word for it.

oc·cu·py  (ŏk′yə-pī′). To fill up (time or space). 2. To dwell or reside in  3. To hold or fill 4. To seize possession of and maintain control  5. To engage or employ the attention or concentration of  Source: Occupy – definition of occupy by The Free Dictionary

Does that sound like sit around and do nothing and wait for the end? Nope. Not to me either. But that still leaves us with a set end. A set way that this old world system is going to play out. And leading up to that set end the peoples of this world devolve into deeper and more abundant depravity. We see it happening now.

Matthew 24:12 (NASB)

12 Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.

See also Romans 1:28, Titus 1:16

But GOD has a pause button and thanks to a Radio Minister of the Word I have been thinking about that pause button for a few days. I believe it is Scripturally sound that GOD has a pause button and we can implore Him to engage that pause button on our watch.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (CJB)

14 then, if my people, who bear my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.

Revelation 2:4 But I have this against you: you have lost the love you had at first. Therefore, remember where you were before you fell, turn from this sin, and do what you used to do before. Otherwise, I will come to you and remove your menorah from its place — if you don’t turn from your sin! [source]

Notice if repentance comes, His Hand is stayed.

Revelation 2:16 Therefore repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will]; or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war and fight against them with the sword of My mouth [in judgment]. [source]

Again. Repentance. Stays His Judgment.

Revelation 3: So remember and take to heart the lessons you have received and heard. Keep and obey them, and repent [change your sinful way of thinking, and demonstrate your repentance with new behavior that proves a conscious decision to turn away from sin]. So then, if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you. [source]

Again. wake up or . . .

See GOD has a pause button!

Destruction does not have to come on OUR WATCH! And perhaps it won’t, perhaps my generation will all die out before the Horsemen arrive. But what of our children, our grandchildren even our great-grandchildren – is that what we want for them? Wouldn’t revival, an awakening to the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and you and me be much better? Wouldn’t our welcome home be much better if we occupied til then? 2 Timothy 4:8

Think about it. Pray about it. Will you?

Sparrows

I live in this place, in this time, in this Country for such a time as this. That’s what I got from the Text. Esther 4:14 for such a time as this.

Go on do what you do without fear the media says. Without the fear part I know is true. We are not built, wired, born, created – pick your word – to live in fear. Fear is crippling, paralyzing, tormenting, life-robbing – again pick your word.

Fear strikes and grips the soul. Hope moves a soul on from fear. Trust moves a soul on from fear. But from whom or what do we gather this hope? In whom or what do we place our trust? [Trust is a sacred thing – be careful where and in whom you place it.]

Is there hope for our safety in the capabilities of the US Government? The FBI? Homeland Security? I am grateful for the work they do. I am grateful for their Presence; for their expertise; but that is not enough hope to assuage my fear.

Trust? For sure. For sure trust in this same composite of fallible humans does not send fear from me. I must go higher. I must find someone infallible to trust to quiet my fear.

And you? What quiets your fear in the wake of the Paris slaughter, ISIS, thousands of refugees for sure containing ISIS terrorists coming to our towns, our cities, our restaurants, our houses of entertainment?

Do we stay home? Hunkered down? Is there enough firepower in our four walls to keep us safe? Gripping, isn’t it? Paralyzing. Isn’t it?

As I see it we have two response choices. One, defiance. Defiance that says I will not stand for this! I will not live in fear. I will carry on my life. I will continue as I have done before; I will go to work (or not as retirement may be), eat and sleep, go to the movies, shop, the same as always. Wonder how long same as always will hold it together for us?

Or two. Two, we can acknowledge and give thanks for the FBI, Homeland Security, all the Entities in place and then look above them to the One Infallible One. The One Who does not miss a detail. The One Who does not miss a sparrow that falls. [Matthew 10:29] And sparrows do fall! That does not mean He does not care. It means the curse of evil is still in place in this place – for now. It means we are called to work with GOD not against Him. Defiance will move us along but not in the safest direction.

So if not defiance, what? Surrender? Surrender to evil? NEVER. NEVER. NEVER!

Rather, surrender to the Lordship of the Infallible One. Does that mean sparrows will cease to fall? No. Not yet.

Surrender to dependence?

Yes. But not just any dependence. Not the dependence that just gives up and says there’s nothing I can do. I’ll just sit here and eat a worm. No!

Here’s truth: The more dependent a soul or a nation becomes on THE INFALLIBLE ONE the more independent that soul, that nation is.

Who is America dependent upon?
Read. Listen. Ask around. Seek the answer.

But more than that. Read. Listen. Ask until you can answer Who am I dependent upon?

The FBI? Homeland Security? Washington? The US Federal Government?

Or The Infallible One?

How’s your fear level now? Got questions? Email me and we’ll talk. I don’t have all the answers. But I have a few that will help. 🙂

The LOFT – A Clock

For the LOFTThe Loft: A weekly Hangout and Link Up for Christian bloggersGraphic by Kerry Messer

Giving thanks.

That’s been our writing prompt this month. It’s a good writing prompt. It’s an excellent living prompt. 🙂

Today I am giving thanks for our dining area clock. imageIt has been a fixture on our wall since, well, since I don’t know when. Some months ago with a little help of an elbow wrongly placed, it fell. It’s hands drooped, telling us only twice a day the correct time – 6:30.

We missed the clock.  We missed knowing the correct time. We thought of buying a new one but just didn’t get around to it. We often procrastinate at our house. 😉

So this week we determined that’s it, we are going to buy a new clock. 😦

Oh wait maybe we could just buy new parts and keep the old frame. Yes, lets do that! So JT took the clock from the wall and began to disassemble it to determine what new replacement parts to buy.

Old parts in hand and under close examination, he discovered the jolt months earlier had only displaced the hands – reattaching them to their proper place, a new battery and ta da! She works!

You know if we had closely examined the clock when she and the elbow collided, we would have discovered the real reason she no longer responded as anticipated. We could have lifted up her hands and enjoyed her time keeping all these months.

12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, . . .  [ source – Hebrews 12:12 KJV]

How often in our haste or procrastination have we put aside what only needs some reattaching, some lifting up to its original place of honor, esteem, working order, etc. – be it clocks or relationships?

Yes, giving thanks today for clocks that teach lessons and tell time. 🙂

Well, Y’all the LOFT for new posts will be closed until December 2. As to The White Stone – we’ll see when the next time is

For Today

Psalm 82:4 (NIV)

Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

Deuteronomy 15:7 (NIV)

If anyone is poor among your fellow Israelites in any of the towns of the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward them.

Jeremiah 22:3 (NIV)

This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.

Proverbs 24:11-12 (NIV)

11 Rescue those being led away to death;
hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
12 If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,”
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who guards your life know it?
Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?

Esther 4:14 (NIV)

14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

James 2:1 (NIV)

My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.
