Isaiah 59:1   21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.   via Is 59:1 KJ21 – Behold, the LORD’S hand is not – Bible Gateway.

And in between verse 1 and verse 19 is a whole lot of rebellion and sin and stubbornness and idolatry and on and on. Shall we not forget the LORD’s Hand is not too short to reach?

To reach to correct.

To reach to save.

Give Him praise today that His Hand is not too short to reach YOU for whatever it is YOU need today.

Spanking or Saving.

Either way He loves you and me enough to reach for us today.  Give Him praise!! You see it’s not just unbelievers who need saving, we His children need saving everyday – saving from bad choices, wrong attitudes, perils and harm that we are often oblivious to, on and on He saves us. Let us JOY in Him and be glad this day!

19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.

20 “And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob,” saith the Lord.

21 “As for me, this is my covenant with them,” saith the Lord; “My spirit that is upon thee, and My words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed,” saith the Lord, “from henceforth and for ever.”   via Isaiah 59 KJ21 – Behold, the LORD’S hand is not – Bible Gateway.

How bless o LORD are we that Your Hand is not too short to reach us for spanking or saving!! What a blessed thought to me, ABBA, that You would correct me; that You would love me enough to correct me and save me. Thank You, ABBA, thank You. And I pray for each who come here to read and pray that they too will rejoice in Your Hand that reaches us for whatever our needs. And we have many. We have spirits that are dry and in need of refreshing; we have souls with weaknesses and sins and we cry out to You to come correct us and save us from ourselves; and we praise You that You are able and willing.  Thank You, ABBA.  And we come with our sick and afflicted asking for healing. Asking for safety for brothers and sisters traveling today, particularly a choir group in transit now. And we forget not Israel, praying for peace and safety and our own Nation, ABBA, many needs here. Thank You that Your Hand is not too short and thank You that YOUR STRENGTH is our JOY in JESUS Name.  Amen and amen.

Explaining

Baby Girl GRAND is stirring about five feet away; nope a roll over and pull the covers up; we may have a couple of minutes here.

Good morning, Dear Friends!

Week two (2) of Summer 2012! And we are off to a fine start. GRANDS still sleeping. I have the veggies and flowers watered, the bed made, some praying and a cup of coffee.  Yes, a fine start, indeed!

One of the passages I read this morning in The Message Bible is found at Psalm 106:6. It’s a lengthy paraphrase of the King James’ English. One phrase was emboldened for me.

He . . .  pried them loose from the grip of the enemy.

The passage  describes the rescue of Israel from Egypt, particularly the parting of the Red Sea and the closing up of it again on their enemies. He pried them loose from the grip of the enemy. I am taking heart today that even as ABBA pried me loose from the grip of the enemy; He will do the same for some Dear Ones on my list of praying. Perhaps this Word will be emboldened for you today and you will take heart as well.

I also read Psalm 119:81-88. It said this:

Psalm 119

The Message (MSG)

81-88 I’m homesick—longing for your salvation;

I’m waiting for your word of hope.

My eyes grow heavy watching for some sign of your promise;

how long must I wait for your comfort?

There’s smoke in my eyes—they burn and water,

but I keep a steady gaze on the instructions you post.

How long do I have to put up with all this?

How long till you haul my tormentors into court?

The arrogant godless try to throw me off track,

ignorant as they are of God and his ways.

Everything you command is a sure thing,

but they harass me with lies. Help!

They’ve pushed and pushed—they never let up—

but I haven’t relaxed my grip on your counsel.

In your great love revive me

so I can alertly obey your every word.

via Psalm 119:81 MSG – I’m homesick—longing for your – Bible Gateway.

I noticed the Psalmist was weary in this Passage. And it reminds me of the times I have said, “I’m not complaining; just explaining.” I think he is ‘explaining’ here. :) And ABBA didn’t rebuke him. Perhaps because even in his explaining he kept a steady gaze on the Instructions of the LORD. Even in his explaining he remembers that the commands of the LORD are sure.  And I so appreciated when he said I haven’t relaxed my grip on Your counsel! And because he had not relaxed his grip on ABBA’s counsel, he could then exclaim

In your great love revive me

so I can alertly obey your every word.

This is a worthy goal for today: even when I ‘explain’ my sorrows and griefs to ABBA, I can remember His counsel, His Never-failing promises and commands, His love and THEN I can obey His Word.  Yep! a worthy goal and a doable one! The Psalmist did!

Almost finished and someone is still sleeping.  Shh. :)

ABBA, thank You. Thank You for Your Word that is alive and speaks NOW.  I pray each one who comes here to read and pray will be encouraged and strengthened to hold steady and remember and obey all that You have commanded us.  Thank You, ABBA.  And as I come I am bringing many needs; ones close and ones for others and how helpful and blessed it is that You know each one even better than I and I trust You to work all things for Your glory and our good.  And we come with our sick and afflicted, asking You to heal them and asking You to pry our oblivious and rebellious Ones from the hand of the enemy; giving them grace and space to repent. And asking too for peace and safety for Israel. And mercy for this Nation as well; forgive us, ABBA, send the HOLY SPIRIT, to move us to repentance in JESUS name.  Amen and amen.

It Doesn’t Hurt To Ask

I have been thinking about it so perhaps I should write about it this morning.

I recall a time.  A panic attack was forming. I could feel it coming on. I was scared. I didn’t want to go there AGAIN.  And in ignorant desperation I cried out – literally!:

JESUS, pray for me.

He did. The panic attack immediately subsided.  Mind you I have had some anxious moments since then but none again to that magnitude.

My point? It is a good thing to ask JESUS to pray for us. Shall I give you Scriptural bases?

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
via John 17 KJV – These words spake Jesus, and lifted up – Bible Gateway.

32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
via Luke 22:31-33 KJV – And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, – Bible Gateway.

Past tense, right?

25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
via Hebrews 7 NASB – Melchizedek’s Priesthood Like – Bible Gateway.

Present tense!  He ALWAYS lives to make intercession for us.

So doesn’t He pray even if I do not specifically ask? Of course He does! BUT what of  ‘ye have not because ye ask not’ (James 4:2)?  I’m just giving you some food for thought.

Next time you’re in a tight place, you could cry out: JESUS pray for me.  Perhaps it will make a sweet memory that you will never forget.  A memory that you will hold on to for the rest of your life. A memory that will encourage you and remind you every time – HE LOVES ME! HE HEARS ME!

Thank You, JESUS, for praying for me even when I do not form the words. And thank You that when I do, You let me know that You are always, always praying for me; always loving me.  And not just me but every willing soul who believes and receives. And for every soul who comes here to read and pray today, I pray this precious Truth will bear fruit in their hearts. And, ABBA, we come with our sick and afflicted again this morning, asking You to heal them. And, HOLY SPIRIT, we come with our wayward, rebellious, oblivious Ones and ask for mercy and grace and space to repent. And we pray for our beloved Israel for peace and safety for them. And for our own beloved Nation we pray for mercy; for a revival; for You, HOLY SPIRIT, to call people to come together to pray and intercede for others in JESUS name. Amen and               .

Reading

I’ve been reading this morning. I was determined to finish before I laid it down again. And I did. And I am recommending it to you.  The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews.

Allow me to give you an excerpt from page 160:
“Sometimes when I sit with our Father and watch the movements of your civilization as the time shifts, I am astounded at the arrogance I see displayed in your people. On several occasions, I have asked permission to teach you a lesson, but so far, His patience has greatly exceeded my own. ”

And how about this on page 103:
“My life–my personality, my habits, even my speech–is a combination of the books I choose to read, the people I choose to listen to, and the thoughts I choose to tolerate in my mind. . . . “

And page 155:
“Circumstances are rulers of the weak, . . . “but they are weapons of the wise.”
“Circumstances do not push or pull. they are daily lessons to be studied and gleaned for new knowledge and wisdom.”

One more. Page 149: “All men are driven by faith or fear . . .    Faith or fear is the expectation of an event that hasn’t come to pass or the belief in something that cannot be seen or touched.
“Faith is to believe what one has not seen. The reward of faith is to see what one has believed.”

I am reminded of something Joyce Meyer has said many times. Fear is

13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,

And there you have it.

Blessings to you this Wednesday. I have prayed for each of you by name, email or blog name (whichever way you have identified yourself).

ABBA, thank You for servants who write so well and give us insights and much to ponder. And thank You for Your Word that is TRUTH and able to set us free. I pray this day for TRUTH to prevail in the lives of all my people. That Truth will take hold in their hearts and minds and hold sway over our lives, be believed and will set free and transform each one in JESUS name. And as before we bring our sick and afflicted, Dori and Sheila, specifically, along with others named, asking You to heal them. And as always until it be seen we pray for the rebellious for grace and space to repent. Amen and       .
