DeepWater

Luke 5

Crowds. Everywhere.
Sickness.
Disease.
Needy people everywhere.

16. However, He made a practice of withdrawing to remote places in order to pray.   source

Have you noticed what I have noticed?
When a man or woman’s ministry takes off – they often spend less and less time in prayer?
Why? Because there is so much to do.
JESUS didn’t do it that way.
And who of us has more to do than JESUS did?!!

Peter.
At the beginning of the chapter, he and others had been fishing — all night.
And they had not caught a single fish! When YESHUA walked up they were cleaning their nets.

And what does JESUS say to them?

Put out into deep water, and let down your nets for a catch.”  Verse 4.

Deepwater.
More rowing for tired men.

But hear Peter: “We’ve worked hard all night long, Rabbi, and haven’t caught a thing!
But if you say, so, I’ll let down the nets.”

And he did.
And they filled up TWO boats to almost sinking.

Obedience!
Even when we are tired. Even when it seems not so smart – cause we have already done that.
Obedience.
Obedience to JESUS always brings results! Good results.

This happening actually frightened the men.  BUT
They left EVERYTHING and followed JESUS.

Good move, Guys!

Ownership?

Question.
Have you read Luke 4 lately?
Did you read it yesterday?

Luke 4

The Adversary took him up, showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world,
and said to him, “I will give you all this power and glory. It has been handed over to me, and I can give it to whomever I choose.
So if you will worship me, it will all be yours.”
Yeshua answered him, “The Tanakh says, ‘Worship Adonai your God and serve him only.’”  source

Did you notice, YESHUA did not dispute Satan’s ownership?

When Satan makes this offer to the antichrist, he will not answer the way YESHUA did.
He will drop to his knees and worship that evil being.
The antichrist with full knowledge and undeceived will worship satan for power and stuff he will only get to keep for a very few short years.
And thereafter — well, let’s see his fate.

(KJV) Revelation 20:10  “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

And this one:

Revelation 19: 20 And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire, which burns with brimstone.  source

Did you catch that?
THROWN ALIVE into the lake of fire.

They will not have company in that fire like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had when they were thrown into the king’s fiery furnace for their refusal to bow to any god but THE GOD.
Check out
Daniel 3, particularly verses 25 and 26.

Loving JESUS here is costly but eternity is forever.

Who’s Your Teacher?

It’s a rainy day here in LA.
Drizzle, drizzle, on and off all this day.
A little cool.
That said there’s nothing about it gloomy.

You see today, as I type is Tuesday and like every Tuesday for almost a year with only 2 weeks missed has been prayer day for me and my dear and treasured sister a whole state away.
If you do not have a weekly prayer partner I highly recommend you ask The LORD to bring you one.

Does it take discipline and dedication? Absolutely it does!
But then all things godly do, wouldn’t you agree?

Mark 14

In the house of Simon the leaper. What a way to be identified!
Simon the leaper. But he had been healed!

The woman with the Alabaster jar of perfume.
She came to the house. Just brought herself right on in there.

And then what?
(Please be reminded this is only 2 days, give or take a few hours, before crucifixion day.)
She didn’t just remove the cork or whatever type of spill preventative accompanied the jar; she broke it.
She reserved nothing for herself. She poured it all out for JESUS.
Do you need to cease reserving something for yourself and instead pour it all out to JESUS?

YESHUA received her worship – every ounce of it and He took up for her when she was attacked for wasting the perfume. Do we not yet know that nothing we give to JESUS is ever wasted?! To this day we still talk about this lovely woman and what she did for JESUS.

But it was the last straw for Judas. That very day he sought out the Religious leaders to make a deal for the delivery of YESHUA to them.
The disciples prepared the Seder meal. The last time they would eat with Him until after His resurrection. (John 21:9-14; Luke 24:38-44)
And the last time they would share a cup of wine with Him until . . . well, we are not there yet. (Matthew 26:29)

I hope my few notes here will encourage you to read Scripture; to pour over it until Holy Spirit speaks, until He is your TEACHER. (John 14:26)

May I please encourage you again to read the Chapters listed in the sidebar?
May I also encourage you to find someone who will daily read along with you?
Make notes, share your thoughts with your reading partner. Pray with your reading partner.
Even if you cannot daily share your thoughts, at least once a week pick up the phone and share the week’s thoughts together.

Consider this with me: could it be the lack of unity one with another in the Church today is because the majority of us are not reading Scripture daily, nor sharing what we are reading with one another, and we are not praying together?
Please give it some thought — please give it some prayer.

We have the GOD-given RIGHT to live Right in this Wrong World.
