Broken Record

FOR A LARGER VIEWING SCREEN, CLICK THE TITLE OF THIS POST ABOVE

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I am here.

Here again to encourage you, to ask you to please READ Scripture daily.
To read not just a verse or two out of context but instead to read at least a chapter a day. Please.
I mean pick a book of the Bible – a book of your choosing- perhaps not Revelation if you are not well acquainted with Scripture.
Any one of the Gospels perhaps and daily read a chapter. Daily ask Father GOD to reveal what He has said and what He is saying to you.

As the days we are living grow darker and sin increases and love grows colder (Matthew 24:12), Scripture is our lifeline.
Scripture will encourage us, enlighten, strengthen, embolden, and preserve us — pray to love the Word as your bread because if you are a child of GOD, it is your bread!
It is your food to nurture and sustain you.
Let us dare not ignore the Holy Scriptures that are able to deliver us!

Starving!

One statement, well there have been many statements in this book that have held my attention; but, this one today from the book Un-Saved Christian, The Cost of Disobedience by Rebecca Ruth, well, let me tell you:
“Without His Word, you will fall away.”.

I think she is right. I was going to say more than right but that’s a bit much, isn’t it?
How can one be more than right?

Without His Word, you will fall away.

Without DAILY intake of Scripture, we will fall away from following JESUS.
It will happen — so, let’s just don’t let it happen!

Perhaps on the first day, we miss reading, we will not notice a waning of fellowship but within a short time the world will wear on us and we will respond in kind.

So let us just head off the flesh, the world, and the devil, at the pass and read Scripture daily.

One of the many things for which I pray is that I may be enabled to connect more People with more Scripture.
Scripture is our food.
It’s our bread, milk, and meat; and without it, we will starve off the Vine.  John 15:1-8

Please check out these passages: 1 Peter 2:2; Hebrews 5:11-13; 1 Corinthians 3:1-3

And if you are participating in the Weekly Planner Reading, today is Ezekiel 11.

Access! We have it!

Isaiah 50

This chapter is too full for me to fully know today but may I share with you what I see thus far?

This passage so brings JESUS to mind.
It reads like Him.
It describes Him.
It describes perhaps 730 years before He came to earth what He would endure on our behalf.

Look at verse 4 with me, please.

Adonai Elohim has given me the ability to speak as a man well taught, so that I, with my words, know how to sustain the weary.
Each morning he awakens my ear to hear like those who are taught. source

And what did JESUS say in  Matthew 11:28?
Who else but He could say this:
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  source

Do you remember what the counsel said about Peter and John?

Hebrews 4: 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
source – New American Standard Bible 1995

Verse 6 tells of one who offered his back; who was insulted and spit upon.
Again. JESUS.

Matthew 26:67 and John 19:1 –  Read HERE.

Verse 7 tells us He said no insult would wound him.
Now we know that must be JESUS.
Read with me my confirming New Testament verse.

Luke 9:51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,  (KJV)

We need the Old Testament and the New Testament if we want a full picture of JESUS.
And fortunately, we have access to both.
We have paper and ink copies; we have internet access to multiple translations; we even have access to Scripture on our phones.
We have access. We have no excuse.
