Pebbles

A word from a Sister-Friend used by permission:

This morning as I awoke this raced through my brain:  “Crushing Satan’s Pebbles”.  Didn’t know why or exactly what it meant.  Maybe a good sermon title?

As I pondered it over, these thoughts followed:  we recognize those big boulders or mountains that Satan can put into our paths to make us stumble or veer off the path, but do we even begin to recognize and deal properly with those little tiny pebbles.  Those little pebbles are there to annoy us, pain us a little bit, steal our joy, or even make our minds wander where they shouldn’t.  They are like a grain of sand in our shoes that irritates us as we walk.  We are eager to remove the shoe and get the sand out.  We need to be so in tune with God that we will recognize the “pebbles” and eagerly ask God to remove them from us, protecting us from the potential dangers.  Zippy

I think my Sister heard a Word for herself and many of us. Like she said we are eager, we can’t wait to get that shoe off and get that sand out.

Got any little pebbles (sins) to rid from your shoes (walk) today?

Song of Solomon 2

15 “Catch the foxes for us, yes, the little foxes!
They are ruining the vineyards when our vineyards are in bloom!”

Be Hidden in CHRIST,

I see it, ABBA. I understand and Thank You. Thank You for my Sister. Thank You for this Word to her and thank You that she shared it with me and that I can share it here. I pray this Word will do all that You plan, for as long as You desire. I pray for us to recognize the pebbles and be as eager to get rid of the sins in our lives as we are to get sand from our shoes. Forgive us. We are an insensitive people when it comes to our own sins.We dismiss the ones we deem small and pride ourselves that we don’t do the ones we think are big. Forgive us and help us, ABBA. HOLY SPIRIT, bless us with conviction, conviction too strong, too loud or perhaps too quiet and too steady for us to ignore. Help us repent. Some people and situations are coming to mind. And I am reminded that all things are possible with You; I’m glad about that because these things feel impossible; but I am asking. Asking for Your Light to come on in hearts and for caring people to be steeped in wisdom. Help us be not overwhelmed with all the troubles of this life; with the illness and disease; with poverty of spirit; with hunger and lack of hunger; with sexual slavery; with hard heart-ed rebellion; it often seems endless; let us not be defeated but rather arise in victory with our Savior. We dare not forget to pray for healing-s for these, physical and otherwise, for Jamie. Dylan. Dori. Kerri. Lance. Adalynn. Carol. Donnie. Terri & family. and Others. All Others that Readers bring here with them in prayer. And for each who reads or visits this page, I pray for them to know the beauty of Your Presence and for them to rest in Your Grace and Your strength, finding You sufficient in all things.

It Fits Now

I was ironing yesterday; which means I was also watching movies. And since Netflix I have a plethora of good, wholesome, faith filled movies at my disposal. And one of yesterday’s choices was The Moment After 2:The Awakening and it was good! A Parting Salutation used again and again caught my attention.

Be hidden in Christ

And so of course I looked to find the Scriptural basis for the phrase – I heard potential there and I was not disappointed.  And as you would expect I have begun to use it. :)

My beloved sent his customary email to let me know he had arrived to his office and he asked prayer for a productive day. My return email contained the requested prayer – here’s a portion: for his joy to be full – hidden in You Christ Jesus – hidden so no one can take it from him.

Colossians 3:

3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

via Col 3:3 NASB;CJB – For you have died and your life is – Bible Gateway.

At the conception of our rebirth our eternal life, our eternal destiny is HIDDEN in CHRIST JESUS — not to be taken from us. And yet as we sojourn this planet waiting for the adoption of our entire being there are many things we would do well to HIDE in CHRIST that others not take – no a truer word in this instance – that we not give those things away to others.

So I must ask myself (and you) what have we been giving away to others that we should be hiding in CHRIST JESUS?

joy?
trust?
courage?
strength?
sanity?
outcome of relationships?
outcome of medical conditions?

See what I mean? Those dreams, emotions, all things that make this sojourn holy and profitable — HIDE them in CHRIST – only there will they and we be safe, and yes profitable and productive.

In the movie, be hidden in Christ was an expression of hope, encouragement and love: Be hidden in Christ that the antichrist not find you.

It fits now too.

ABBA, thank You. Thank You for movies that give us messages and lessons based upon Your Word. I pray those movies will long do a work to give people an opportunity to hide themselves in You from the antichrists that are already here and the one yet to come.
Thank you for the good works being done with Jamie. Thank You for Your good will and purpose for her; and as we have been asked we pray that You will strengthen her; that her mobility will increase and that her ability to breath normally will be restored. And above all that, ABBA, I ask You to heal Jamie. To remove every trace of cancer within every cell of her body. And we pray for others. Dylan. his surgery is scheduled again for tomorrow and again we ask You for a textbook perfect procedure and recovery; for doctors and staff to be at their best, to catch and correct every abnormality from start to finish. Terri. remembering her and her family always, all the way through this chemo and all matters. Lance. and his rehab, rebuilding muscles and systems damaged and not just that but helps for family too – that their strength and his be meet for this day – that they be hidden in You LORD JESUS. And there are many Others and matters: Vikki. Ray. Leslie. Ray/Treva. Dori. Family. Friends. Weddings. Much, ABBA. Thank You for taking it all on and doing all things well, ABBA, in JESUS name we ask.

Facebook page Prayers for Jamie

Jamie Martin wrote:  I’m away from FB for a few days and come back to a whirlwind of blessings and prayers and smiles everywhere!! Thank you guys so much! Most of the updates will be from my family for now. For the next few days my focus is on staying up and moving and continuing to breath normally while doing so. That’s the hardest thing right now. Still on low amount of oxygen just to help me along the way. Surgery went exceptional. All things well in that department. Now just to get me breathing at a good level on my own with no help from a tank. We are slowly getting there. Once my lungs get healthier, we will then begin to focus on chemo. Spread the word about this page. It will be the easiest way to update everyone. Love and thanks to you all!!!!

My Find

A find I didn’t know I had.

Off and on for much of this fleeting Saturday, I have invested in studying for tomorrow’s Bible lesson during Sunday School hour at First Baptist Satsuma. And in the process I chased a number of rabbits. :) I do that often with the various study tools I have. This one is Logos. Isn’t it delightful when you find you have something you didn’t know you had?

So reading, clicking and exploring my Logos Library I found the following and decided I’d post a small portion of my find here. I am thinking of my grandchildren. Perhaps you have children or grandchildren that will come to  mind as well:

Selecting a Mate

Many young people have a romantic expectation of meeting someone who is erotically attractive and elicits a mysterious sense of compatibility. “Falling in love” hits like a powerful religious experience and is taken to be the voice of God: “This is the one for you.” Christian young people are sitting ducks for this deception.

They need compelling instruction that identifies Christian love as service love, founded on a decision, drawing from the emotions but not grounded in them. They also need wise criteria for selecting a spouse. We suggest they consider questions like the following:

—What kind of life is God calling you to live? What kind of spouse would support that?

—What kind of person would likely make a good father or mother for your children?

—What personality traits would put additional stress on your personal weaknesses?

—What are the important qualities in a spouse “for the long haul”? How do attractive appearance and an urbane sense of humor rate over time with a trait like faithfulness?[1]

I wonder how many divorces would have been avoided had the marriages been predicated on these criteria?  I also wonder how many godly homes would have been established?  It is not too late for this generation if our generation will make some changes.

Food for thought.

Happy Saturday, my Friends,

Rivers & Nudges

This first mention of a river in the Bible is found in Genesis.

10 A river went out of ‘Eden to water the garden, and from there it divided into four streams.

via Genesis 2:9-11 KJV;CJB – And out of the ground made the LORD God – Bible Gateway.

The last mention of a river in Scripture is addressed at Revelation 22.

Revelation 22:1-3 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

22 Next the angel showed me the river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 Between the main street and the river was the Tree of Life producing twelve kinds of fruit, a different kind every month; and the leaves of the tree were for healing the nations — 3 no longer will there be any curses. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will worship him;

And in between there are many more. Click HERE to see all 217. It would be a worthy study, don’t you think? Like this: Long before the Psalmist saw the City of GOD, he knew there was a river. How did he know? Yeah. We know, don’t we? :)

Psalm 45:4

(4) There is a river whose streams gladden the city of God, the holy habitation of ‘Elyon —

ABBA,thank You for this River. Thank You that You have quenched our thirst and that forever we shall drink from Your River. Thank You for Fruit yet to be eaten; for the eternal healing of every hurt and every disease. Thank You, LORD YESHUA, for Your Sacrifice that has saved us. And thank You that here in Time You are also our Healer and because You are we ask You to heal Jamie. And Terri. Alyssa. Lance. Kerri. Dori. And others named in each of our respective hearts. Thank You for protecting Pam; thank You for maneuvering those vehicles so there was only little damage to each; thank You, ABBA, for sparing both their lives. Thank You for healthy test scores. Thank You for Moms, give them steady hands as they guide their children: Dawn comes to mind, as do Others. Collectively, all us gathered here come now casting our many cares upon You; thank You for receiving them; thank You for answering, ABBA. And, HOLY SPIRIT, thank You so much for Your nudges; Yes, we welcome Your conviction and correction; we do not want to take Your blessings or Your Love for granted; we do not want to live our lives sloppily; so we lay open our hearts for inspection and thank You for making us worthy vessels in Your Kingdom work. We praise You now for what You are bringing to be.
