Wall Calendars

December 31, 2022

Last day.
Are you Ready?

What shall we do?
Shall we invite, rather plead with The Father to give us the wonderful, holy gift of conviction of sin?
On this special day shall we confess our sins, receive His forgiveness and be willing to embrace a new level of obedience?

I wonder how many Folks still have wall calendars?
That’s what we used to call them.
Wall calendars. SouthernLady2023WallCalendar
I guess I still do.

We have one in the kitchen, one in the library, and one inside the door of the dressing room towel closet.
That’s where we record our daily weight.
Well, where I record it if it’s acceptable to me. 😉
J is much more faithful than I am.

What else shall we do today?

Set some goals, maybe?
Let’s see, shall we make a  list of some Books to read?
Or perhaps name the People we want to see — to fellowship with?

Attics to clean? Nah — I don’t even want to think about that today.

I have a pile of sheets to wash.
Not kidding. I want to laundry all of them and freshly stack them in the deacon’s bench at the end of the bed so they are ready all month in January.
You know when things get tucked away for a while they tend to get stale. 🙂
There’s a message in that if you want to explore it.

Whatever you decide, whatever you do make it something that you can do in JESUS’ name.

Churched People

1Well, y’all the last midnight of 2022 is 30 hours away (at this typing).

Thirty hours and a New Year begins.
We make a big deal of it — don’t we?

I actually like New Year’s.
Other than Thanksgiving, it’s my favorite holiday.
I like fresh starts.
I like new canvases.

There’s even something special to me about starting a new journal  – that very first page.
What shall I write?

What shall we write on the page (canvas) of our very first day of 2023?
We have some plans — do you?

How many of you remember back in the 1990s Churched People used to gather for fellowship on New Year’s Eve?
We would eat fun foods, play games, laugh, and talk until about 11:00 ish and then we’d head to the Auditorium or Sanctuary if you prefer; we’d kneel around the altar and we would pray in the New Year. prayer

Are any of y’all gathering together to do that this New Year’s Eve?
Let me hear from you.

I gotta get up from here — time to prepare supper.

22 The Lord’s acts of mercy indeed do not end, For His compassions do not fail.

Hunger Pains

Depending on how accurate is WordPress with its accounting, the White Stone Blog post from June 2012 linked below is the last one listed as to the number of views since 2012.
Yes, I have been reviewing posts on the blog today; I have written a few over the years.
Some of them light, perhaps even a couple of them were frivolous, and others hard-hitting.
However, each and every one was written hoping to connect with the Reader and to point them to JESUS and HIS  WORD.

May I ask you my Brothers and Sisters in CHRIST who are also my Friends on FB, do you have people in your circle with whom you want to share The Word of GOD?
If we are Believers who say we believe The Last Days are fast approaching or perhaps already here, how important is it to us to know our family and friends are right with GOD?
I want to help.
When you read certain posts at The White Stone Blog and people come to your mind, please consider sharing the post with them. None of us know how much time we have left to prepare for what has been recorded in Scripture, that shall surely come to be.

Should not there be an urgency in us to connect people with Scripture?
Shouldn’t we, the Born-Again, have gnawing hunger pains, yearning to be NOURISHED by Scripture and cravings to NOURISH others from The Bible?
And if we don’t, isn’t it time to learn why we don’t?

There was a time I wanted this blog to be well-known — I don’t care about that anymore but I do want to connect as many people with Scripture as I can while I am here.  I am well content with being invisible as long as JESUS is lifted up.
And if you have that same desire, and if you find something here at The White Stone that strikes a chord — please share it with others.
Facebook, Email, whatever means you have to share The Full Gospel of JESUS, do it!

Ad Commenting

Jesus gets us the Ad says

Jesus
Emphasis on the US you see.

Are you kidding me?!

He gets us?!

How about coming to JESUS in faith for deliverance — so we Get HIM?

How about we (US) take the focus from ourselves and focus on HIM as The GOD He is?

The GOD Who if HE does not transform us from sinners to Saints, we will not enter His Heaven.

Here’s the goal of He gets us.com.

“The main goal is just to increase the respect and the personal relevancy of Jesus,” said Vanderground.”
By the way, the budget for this campaign is 100 Million Dollars.

Further, they say:

“Though we believe he was what Christians call fully God and fully man, that may not be what you believe. We’re simply inviting you to explore with us at He Gets Us how might things be different if more people followed his example. So, look at this as an open invitation to engage and learn more. We’re also here to support and listen to you. Connect with us here and via social media.”

This is as close as they get on their web page to identifying Him as GOD.
And did you notice the wording he was?
He was!
How about HE IS?!

Their focus is His humanity. And I LOVE His humanity.
I LOVE that He gets what it is to be human BUT He did not come here to identify with MY humanity.
He knows people are under a DEATH SENTENCE and it is the CAUSE of the death sentence He came to address.
Indeed He is 100% man, perfect man, and 100% GOD.
Were He not fully GOD, just being the only fully perfect man would still not transform any of us from the fallen humans we were born.

He did not come here so He could identify with our political views or to fix the social injustices of this society.
He did not come here so people could follow His example or His teachings and make this world a better place. (Albeit, obedient Disciples of JESUS do improve social conditions by their very presence in society.)
He came here so we could find our identity IN HIM.
Scripture link and I strongly suggest you read these verses in context.
We can try to identify with what happened to Him in His humanity all day long but until we bow before Him as GOD ALMIGHTY, we will stay in our sins – continuing to practice them without any hope of deliverance and certainly No forgiveness.

JESUS gets us.

Indeed He does. He knows every sin we have committed and He will be giving NO ONE a free pass.

So instead of preaching JESUS gets us, preach do we get JESUS?
Do you (we) GET Who HE IS?
Do you (we) GET who we ARE without HIM?

Am I saying nothing good at all can come from this campaign?
No. I am not willing to go that far because when any man, woman, or child picks up a Bible to read in context with a truth-seeking mind, GOD will meet them on those pages — not a sympathetic, soft, JESUS but the HOLY, AWESOME GOD Who LOVES them AND is willing to save them from their sins, death, hell, and the grave.
He has a new nature (see 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Galatians 6:15) for us because propping up our old nature is not only futile, it’s impossible.

Birthdays!

It’s a quiet morning here at The White Stone Blog and in the house where we abide. Beacon-Generating-Warm-Light-Surrounding-Scenes-Are-Bright-and-Colorful-Can-Comfort-and-Set-One-s-Mind-at-Ease-HD-Natural-Scenery-Wallpaper

It is also December 25.
The world is celebrating who/what they do not know.

For the few of us whose month of December has been different, I have a few words.
To be honest, this morning I picked up one of my prayer journals, the one on my nightstand, and I wrote to Father that I had to be honest with Him that I missed some of the traditions of the Day – the warm fuzzies, the very sentimental, traditional things. And then “this is the day” came to mind, so I looked it up. It’s in Psalm 118.
I read the whole Psalm  – twice.
It gave me holy and much-welcomed warm fuzzies.
If you read it, may it do the same for you — especially if your December has been different and you have been experiencing just a bit of “missing something”.

So I was wondering how long have people been doing this?
When did it get started and why did it start?
There’s nothing recorded in the New Testament, so it must have been after the early Church.
They didn’t do this. So, I looked.

And of all places on the History Webpage, I found some low-down.
I have no reason to doubt them — do you?

Click HERE to read what I read.
I’ll leave you to your own thoughts.

Post-Script (PS)

This analogy is inferior but let me share it anyway.  It might help a few.
First, let me do a little setup.
One, JESUS is not a fallen human so He is not selfish, egotistical, or self-centered, unlike all unredeemed humans.

Now, how honored would YOU consider yourself to be if the world said it was throwing YOU a 2 to 3-month birthday party and the entire 2 to 3 months was all about those attending the party and YOU were barely mentioned (except in the promoting of the party and a few readings of the story of the night YOU were born) by only a small, small minority of the attendees?

Would YOU consider this a party celebrating YOUR birthday?

Would YOU dare pull such a fraud on any of YOUR family or friends?

Such is the world’s celebration that officially ended yesterday – December 25.
