Warm Hearts and Homes

We are thinking of you as this year of 2012 wanes its way to the place of memories. Some we will hold fondly; others will bring tears and praise that HE brought us through!

No home and no heart is perfect but let us give a good faith effort to make both our hearts and our homes places where JESUS will feel welcomed and actually enjoy living with us today and all of 2013.

Luke 12: 33  . . . make for yourselves purses that don’t wear out, riches in heaven that never fail, where no burglar comes near, where no moth destroys. 34 For where your wealth is, there your heart will be also.

Happy, Holy New Year!

Close Enough!

I do not know who is the Author of this piece but I cannot imagine myself not sharing it with you. I cried and at the end clapped my hands in praise saying Yes, You are! Yes, You are!!

twas’ 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38
when 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven’s gate.

their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
they could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
they were filled with such joy, they didn’t know what to say.
they remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
“where are we?” asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
“this is heaven.” declared a small boy. “we’re spending Christmas at God’s house.”
when what to their wondering eyes did appear,
but Jesus, their savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
then He opened His arms and He called them by name.
and in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring
those children all flew into the arms of their King
and as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
one small girl turned and looked at Jesus’ face.
and as if He could read all the questions she had
He gently whispered to her, “I’ll take care of mom and dad.”
then He looked down on earth, the world far below
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe
then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
“Let My power and presence re-enter this land!”
“may this country be delivered from the hands of fools”
“I’m taking back my nation. I’m taking back my schools!”
then He and the children stood up without a sound.
“come now my children, let me show you around.”
excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
all displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
and i heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
“in the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT.”
Perhaps the scene last Friday morning in Heaven did not go exactly as depicted here but this description is close enough for me to give me great, great comfort!! Close enough for me to see my Holy Savior and give Him praise, worship and adoration!!!

Oh, ABBA, thank You, thank You in JESUS HOLY AND ETERNAL NAME! To HIM be glory forever and ever!!

Blessings of Joy and Peace,

Many – A Little Bits

Thank you to many friends who through various social medias have sent us heart warming condolences.  We appreciate you so much! We are comforted. Jerry’s request is for composure as he returns to the office today. Walking from the back door to the car door was not without tears for the both of us this morning.

Susie was special. She is still teaching us even now.

Yesterday we said Life is Fragile. If you missed the post click HERE. And it is. And none of us get out of this life unscathed by grief. And when grief comes it brings gifts. Gifts of memories, reflections and encouragement. It encourages us to seize opportunities to be a little kinder. A little more thoughtful. And slow down just a little bit more. There were a few times, not many, but still too many, that I rushed past Susie either to get to the truck or in the house without saying hello to her and giving her a pat on the head.

She was so smart. Outspoken. She knew what she wanted and she was not shy in asking. Why do I say that? Glad you asked. You see weekends were often outside work days for Jerry. Susie watched from the backyard. Often I’d step outside to lend a hand or watch too; and when I did Susie would notice. She’d wait a moment or two and then she would bark, looking square at me. That was her outspoken request. Come pat me. And I would. And she’d be satisfied. And I was blessed to be so loved by such a smart and loving creation.

Oh to be like Susie. To know our own needs and desires. To make them know to our MASTER and be content with what HE gives. And to know HE was blessed by His smart and loving creation.

Philippians 4:6 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Regrets? Yes. But refusing guilt. And embracing good memories, reflections, and encouragement.

Perhaps there is a friend, canine or human, that you might not rush pass today. Perhaps there is a need to lay before our DADDY GOD and when HE responds, be content.

Joy to you,
