Here we Go!

Here we are dear Ones.
December 1.
The world has officially kicked off the countdown to December 25.
There will be parties, rivalry, and debauchery, and on a lighter side — hot chocolate, trees, candy canes, tons of movies, and gifts galore – this is what the world calls Christmas.

I think the only reason it has not been renamed already is it would reduce the circulation of currency – Christians would balk.

We have to keep CHRIST in Christmas.

If we only knew!

I am not Jewish  – Orthodox or Messianic but I have a Menorah and enough candles for 8 days of honoring Yeshua Ha’Mashiach.

You see JESUS was not born on December 25 – just about everyone knows that. Just about everyone knows He likely came forth to His mother’s arms around the time of Sukkot – September/October-ish.
And if that is the case (and I think it is) the time of Hanukkah would have been the time GOD incarnate moved into the womb of Mary – to grow and in 9 months come forth in the Town of Bethlehem – House of Bread.

Oh, there is so much! So much wonder! So much glory to be seen and believed.
So many reasons to worship and rejoice that The SEED of the woman came to us. (See Genesis 3:15)
HE is The LIGHT of the World. A world in complete darkness.
There are not enough LEDs on the planet to light our way to  HIM.

I hope you will read this research, click HERE– if you do, you just might get a glimpse of why I am so good with not celebrating the global event called Christmas.

In Between

I am still thinking about an earlier post: A Weekend Suggestion.

And reading Matthew 27 again brings it all the more to mind.

In A Weekend Suggestion, I reminded us that JESUS is the LIGHT of the World.
Matthew 27 tells us on the day YESHUA died BEFORE He died, from noon to about 3:00 the sun did not shine — it was dark. There was darkness everywhere.
That means something to me.

Allow me to share some of my thinking with you about Christiandom. It seems to me for the last many centuries people have been distracted by the beatings, spitting, heinous actions of the people against Yeshua. Yes, distracted.
Distracted from what we desperately need to see.
We concentrate on the trial, the lies, the cat of nine tails, the crown of thorns — and we should be moved even more by it than we are but it is NOT the wrath of man against JESUS that saves us.
No.
It isn’t.
It is that
HE submitted Himself to the WRATH of THE FATHER poured out on HIM.

You read that right it is not the suffering He suffered at the hands of man BUT the WRATH OF GOD poured out on HIM by His Very Own FATHER GOD!

From Noon until about 3 o’clock we have no idea, no imagination, no comprehension, no means of knowing the HELL that was poured out on JESUS while He was alive on that cross.

Why?
Because it was the ONLY WAY TO SAVE YOU AND ME!

JESUS suffered heinous, horrible, unholy, cruel, demonic physical assaults to His perfect Human Flesh but that was NOT GOD’s WRATH.
That was man’s wrath against GOD.

What saved you and me was what happened to JESUS, the GODMAN on that cross in the DARK.
When the LIGHT of the WORLD became DARKNESS.
The darkness we are without Him.

When HE said It is finished. That’s what He meant it.
It was Finished; the WRATH had been poured out and HE took it  — every last drop of it.
Isaiah 53:6
Mark 14:32-42
Romans 5:12-19

And then to fully identify with us and to fulfill every jot and tittle of prophecy HE DIED.

And in three days — HE arose from being graveyard dead!

Got doubts?
Consider this.
During that darkness, JESUS cried out:

45 Now from the sixth hour darkness fell upon all the land until the ninth hour.
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lema sabaktanei?” that is, My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”  source

And this:

Access! We have it!

Isaiah 50

This chapter is too full for me to fully know today but may I share with you what I see thus far?

This passage so brings JESUS to mind.
It reads like Him.
It describes Him.
It describes perhaps 730 years before He came to earth what He would endure on our behalf.

Look at verse 4 with me, please.

Adonai Elohim has given me the ability to speak as a man well taught, so that I, with my words, know how to sustain the weary.
Each morning he awakens my ear to hear like those who are taught. source

And what did JESUS say in  Matthew 11:28?
Who else but He could say this:
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  source

Do you remember what the counsel said about Peter and John?

Hebrews 4: 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
source – New American Standard Bible 1995

Verse 6 tells of one who offered his back; who was insulted and spit upon.
Again. JESUS.

Matthew 26:67 and John 19:1 –  Read HERE.

Verse 7 tells us He said no insult would wound him.
Now we know that must be JESUS.
Read with me my confirming New Testament verse.

Luke 9:51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,  (KJV)

We need the Old Testament and the New Testament if we want a full picture of JESUS.
And fortunately, we have access to both.
We have paper and ink copies; we have internet access to multiple translations; we even have access to Scripture on our phones.
We have access. We have no excuse.
