Cocky hypocrites —

Mark 15

As soon as it was morning, the head cohanim held a council meeting with the elders, the Torah-teachers and the whole Sanhedrin. Then they put Yeshua in chains, led him away and handed him over to Pilate.  source

cohanim – Priest
Torah-teachers – Scribes
Sanhedrin – Counsel

Friends, look at that.
These cocky hypocrites I could think of another word or two but I will spare us – these blind, lost souls think they are so powerful, so important, so in charge that they put the Creator of the Universe, The King of Glory in chains and led Him away to be tried in the Courts of Men.

It is they who were on trial and it is they who were guilty – I’ll say it. Guilty as hell.
But so were WE until we repented and believed. Just as guilty. Just as undone. Just as needy. Just as helpless.

Mull it over if you will–just how cocky, arrogant, and stupid mankind is when they (we) think we can war against the GOD of Creation, overpower Him, reduce Him to less than He is and declare ourselves wiser, smarter, and more powerful than He.
But alas for 3 days it looked like they did do just that.  (Mark 16:5-7)
And often it still looks that way.
But don’t be fooled, my Friends.
JESUS is The KING OF GLORY and He will come and make all things Right when the time is right.

Hold steady and believe — TRUST.
Hold steady to Scripture.
Believe what you know and occupy yourself learning what you don’t — yet.

And that my Friends is what I have so far from verse 1.

Be encouraged.
Open your Bibles and read.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Who’s Your Teacher?

It’s a rainy day here in LA.
Drizzle, drizzle, on and off all this day.
A little cool.
That said there’s nothing about it gloomy.

You see today, as I type is Tuesday and like every Tuesday for almost a year with only 2 weeks missed has been prayer day for me and my dear and treasured sister a whole state away.
If you do not have a weekly prayer partner I highly recommend you ask The LORD to bring you one.

Does it take discipline and dedication? Absolutely it does!
But then all things godly do, wouldn’t you agree?

Mark 14

In the house of Simon the leaper. What a way to be identified!
Simon the leaper. But he had been healed!

The woman with the Alabaster jar of perfume.
She came to the house. Just brought herself right on in there.

And then what?
(Please be reminded this is only 2 days, give or take a few hours, before crucifixion day.)
She didn’t just remove the cork or whatever type of spill preventative accompanied the jar; she broke it.
She reserved nothing for herself. She poured it all out for JESUS.
Do you need to cease reserving something for yourself and instead pour it all out to JESUS?

YESHUA received her worship – every ounce of it and He took up for her when she was attacked for wasting the perfume. Do we not yet know that nothing we give to JESUS is ever wasted?! To this day we still talk about this lovely woman and what she did for JESUS.

But it was the last straw for Judas. That very day he sought out the Religious leaders to make a deal for the delivery of YESHUA to them.
The disciples prepared the Seder meal. The last time they would eat with Him until after His resurrection. (John 21:9-14; Luke 24:38-44)
And the last time they would share a cup of wine with Him until . . . well, we are not there yet. (Matthew 26:29)

I hope my few notes here will encourage you to read Scripture; to pour over it until Holy Spirit speaks, until He is your TEACHER. (John 14:26)

May I please encourage you again to read the Chapters listed in the sidebar?
May I also encourage you to find someone who will daily read along with you?
Make notes, share your thoughts with your reading partner. Pray with your reading partner.
Even if you cannot daily share your thoughts, at least once a week pick up the phone and share the week’s thoughts together.

Consider this with me: could it be the lack of unity one with another in the Church today is because the majority of us are not reading Scripture daily, nor sharing what we are reading with one another, and we are not praying together?
Please give it some thought — please give it some prayer.

We have the GOD-given RIGHT to live Right in this Wrong World.
