Nine Words

Malachi 4

I am taking 9 words from Malachi 4 as my focus for this piece.
Actually, in my Complete Jewish Bible, there is no chapter 4 but there is a Chapter 3 continuing beyond verse 18, and it is in these beyond verses that these 9 words reside.

Allow me to give you a link to the CJB and a link to NASB, KJV, and NLT.

So what are the words?

“on the day when I take action,” says Adonai-Tzva’ot.”

These words encourage me. These words give me patience.
These words crucify my flesh that wants to rise up in fear and anger.
Why?

Because these words tell me GOD is going to take action. If we read the whole of the Text we see upon whom He is going to take action.
That is and I quote from verse 1 (or 19 depending on your translation): “all the proud and evildoers”.

Let us be honest.

Right now today we don’t see His actions against the proud and the evildoers, particularly for several years now.
We see them doing their evil with no punishment, little if any visible restraint — but that will not always be.

So take heart, my brothers and sisters. Take heart.
Fret not because of evildoers. (Psalm 37)

Let us focus not on the evil but on our Father who does all things well, perfectly well, and perfectly on time.

And remember too that just because we do not see His Hand does not mean He is not working.
I mean JESUS told us He was preparing a dwelling place for us — we have not seen it yet but we believe, we KNOW He does not lie and He is surely preparing just as He said. (John 14:3)

So.
In the time we have left on this earth, let us live in love and trust; let us repent and forsake fear and anger; which will open us to sharing the Gospel of JESUS with anyone in our path who is willing to hear.

Our Father wants NO ONE to perish. (2 Peter 3:9)
That must be our desire as well.

P.S.  The nine words — “on the day when I take action,” says Adonai-Tzva’ot.”

It’s a set date, y’all.
Did you notice that?

Times How Much?

Genesis 7

Verse 1 Then the Lord said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this generation. source

So what does it take to be seen righteous before the LORD?

Of ALL the people on the earth at the time of this event, ONLY Noah and his household was seen to be righteous before The LORD.
NO. ONE. ELSE.
Not a single other soul.
What was life like on the planet?
The corruption, the evilness must have been like America multiplied and intensified times; times how much??
I don’t even know times how much!

The Scripture says Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of mankind was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually.” Genesis 6:5

From the fruit the media reports it seems to me there are humans living today to whom verse 5 applies.
Let it not be any of us!

Back to the question.
What does it take to be seen righteous before The LORD?

Well, if we go back to Genesis 6 again we will read:  ” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LordThese are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.”  source

What does it mean to walk with GOD
Perhaps you will agree it is to live in agreement with GOD; to say what GOD says about sin, life, and death.

And what does GOD say about sin, life, and death?
And how has HE spoken to us?
HE has spoken to us by, through, and in His SON. Hebrews 1:2
Perhaps you will read all of Hebrews 1 for a fuller understanding.

I’ve heard it preached that the People of the Old Testament looked forward to the cross of JESUS with saving faith and we of the New Testament look back to the cross of JESUS with saving faith.

Do you get the picture?

It’s obedience to what GOD reveals to us.
And how has He revealed Himself? Through His Son, JESUS CHRIST.

Noah did that. GOD told him to build an ark on dry land — he did it!

Noah did what he heard GOD say even though what GOD said looked to be the most stupid thing a person could do on planet Earth.
That ‘stupid’ act of obedience preserved the earthly lives of Noah, his wife, his sons, his sons’ wives, animals, birds, cattle, and . . . .

Would we be here if Noah had failed to obey GOD?

Obedience to GOD is the most important of all things, wouldn’t you agree?

We will not fully know until our day of accounting just what our faithful obedience to the Father has done — but of this I am confident: IT WILL BE GOOD!
And we will be glad we obeyed! Every single time!

Should I?

Curiosity or inquisitive; whichever it is I am here – wondering.

I heard tonight from people who should know what they speak and by all means, they should be telling the truth.
They tell me some young people of today are actually interested in THE BIBLE.

Young People and the Bible.
Millennials  and Generation Z (ers)

Are these humans actually interested in the Bible? More than just interested in reading it but actually studying it and obeying it? I mean allowing Holy Spirit to take Scripture and transform them?
To change the way they think, talk, their world-view, what they eat, drink, how they dress, their entertainment, who they live with, who they won’t live with? To be People of THE BOOK?

Have you met such as these?  Are you one of them?

Is it too much to hope that there are males and females between the ages of 40 and 12 that actually want to KNOW GOD and live holy, godly lives; not materialistic, not caught up in cultural movements? Do these special, unique, wonderful humans actually live in America?

O! I want to believe this? Should I?
